It was wonderful to talk with Noah Bullock of @Cristosal, Investigations Lab alum Haley Willis, and @KAlexaKoenig about immigration, our work with the @hrw on CECOT, and OSINT for the start of a series for the Lab’s 10th anniversary! Looking forward to the conversations to come.
Two days until Ep. 1 of “Ten Years of HRC’s Investigations Lab.” @taliaharter, a @UCBerkeley student & Lab team lead, explains more on our research with @Cristosal + @hrw on Venezuelans deported to El Salvador's CECOT prison. Tune in on Wednesday for the full episode!

Alexa Koenig’s research on human rights violations at CECOT was to be featured on “60 Minutes."
She says it was "incredibly disappointing" to learn that her and her students' work for the show would be shelved when CBS News pulled the segment.

It's a shame that—after Bari Weiss pulled the 60 Minutes segment—tonight the public won't get to learn about the vital work that @hrcberkeley Investigations Lab students have done using OSINT research to document abuses suffered by migrants the U.S. government sent to CECOT.
Tune into @60Minutes this Sunday at 7 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET to see HRC’s @KAlexaKoenig and our Investigations Lab students speak about their #OSINT research for @hrw and @Cristosal documenting inhumane conditions in El Salvador’s #CECOT mega-prison:

Here's the Human Rights Watch report about CECOT that I cited on @CNN just now. "Detainees were subjected to constant beatings and other forms of ill-treatment... Many of these abuses constitute torture under international human rights law." hrw.org/report/2025/11/12/yo…
