Sad to hear of the passing of Canada's first Inuk surgeon and trailblazer from the NWT, Dr. Noah Carpenter. Also sad to hear that he was not accepted to come work in the North, despite his interest to work here. Still, what an inspiration! cbc.ca/news/canada/north/noa…

Excited that I am working in the community I was hoping to work in since I decided to pursue medicine!
A real bright spot in a strained #Emergency summer: sharing an #ER with home-grown Métis doc @tdhont in his first shift as an attending after having worked with him in his 1st shift as a 4th yr Med student.
I’d say I didn’t coo & get a bit teary but… #Proud #LifeInMedicine 😊☀️

Things that matter but not hearing much about during federal campaign from anyone
1⃣ opioid-related deaths
2⃣ home care, long-term care
3⃣ Indigenous issues: search for unmarked graves at residential schools; drinking water advisories; over-apprehension of children to foster care
