Lithium is a fascinating little ion. Some good work being done in Dundee to try and assess its role in GSK3 inhibition. researchgate.net/publication…
Lithium is showing promise in this respect, at least in animal models of prostate cancer. Who knows... we may end up delivering it in to the bladder directly as suggested by Alexander Ure in 1843 for the treatment of urinary calculi. Medical advice then but not now!
Take home message on photo. Anecdotally speaker started taking lithium when he developed prostate cancer. He recovered without any other treatment...(this is not medical advice) #WCP19

Very interesting. In the top 10 prescribing regions are Oxford, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle. All regions with clinical academics running services with special interests in bipolar and affective disorders
