What many may fail to recognize as a harm of the campaign to discredit the #vaccineinjured is that it will make it even harder for us to get meaningful help, both medical and financial. You are not just hurting our feelings; you are threatening our survival. (1)

On days like today, diversification matters. Beer, whisky, vodka, wine and tequila have all helped me forget about my portfolio.

Look, sometimes the Nasdaq has to go down 6% so that those of us who are diversified value investors can feel great about being down slightly less that day.

Look forward to reading this paper by Harriet.
Latest paper: Hypothesis: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) as a Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD) preprints.org/manuscript/202… This is a long paper because I wanted to "set the scene" so to speak and also cover anticipated and valid critiques. A wee summary below 🧡

This is very important to me because I have been harmed by doctors who refuse to recognize this. First they harm you, then they dismiss you, then they harm you some more. From the abstract:
🚨 Our new paper on #EDS/HSD, #MCAS and #dysautonomia as risk factors for adverse events and complications: an invited paper. Thanks to my co-authors, Drs. @KSivakoti89360 and Larry Afrin, for their contribution. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

When vaccine injury research becomes political, patients are too often lost in the conversation. In a new article published by Brownstone Journal, React19's Brianne Dressen discusses the NIH's newly announced research initiative, the political narratives surrounding it, and why the focus must remain on those who have spent years seeking answers. For the vaccine-injured community, this research represents an important opportunity, but an announcement alone is not enough. Patients deserve rigorous science, transparency, meaningful follow-through, and research that ultimately leads to better recognition and care. Bear markets make fools of bulls and bears. Most of the market is in bear market though the indeces are deceiving. It's weird.

#POTS Awful flare (long story about what brought it on, but it was iatrogenic). Amazing: 3 days on prednisone and I am like a new woman. Supine hr 60, standing 73. Standing 73!!!! Rashes gone, tinnitus gone, burning in legs gone. My body is telling me something.

From my pov, it would be more helpful to me if the NIH put some money into studying POTS and dysautonomia. There is a veritable epidemic of POTS/dysautonomia. Most doctors still don't undertand it. You can't get appointments with the ones who do. The waitlists are years long.

There are also ONLY a few doctors in the country who look at underlying perpetuators such as cervical spine issues. Many of these doctors don't take insurance, so it would sure be helpful if the NIH collaborated with those and got us actual care.

The only thing worse than a gap down after making new highs is two gap downs after making new highs. Another stress test today while crude looks primed to break higher. Better be focused on the SUPER LIQUID names or nothing in this market.

For MCAS and Long COVID, Japan has a Solution called Ketas (ibudilast) since 1989. The same thing is now in Western trials for neuroinflammatory disease. Ketas is a brain-penetrant inhibitor of PDE4 (phosphodiesterase 4, the enzyme that breaks down cAMP in immune cells) and PDE10 (phosphodiesterase 10, which breaks down cAMP and cGMP in neurons), with additional activity at PDE3 and PDE11, two more enzymes that clear the same cyclic nucleotides. It is also an allosteric inhibitor of MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor, a cytokine that keeps inflammation from resolving) and an antagonist at TLR4 (toll-like receptor 4, the sensor for endotoxin and damage signals). Japan approved it for asthma and for dizziness tied to poor cerebral blood flow. The FDA has not approved it. MediciNova runs it as MN-166, with Fast Track and orphan status in ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and it has been taken into lingering-COVID protocols for the same glial and cytokine reasons. MCAS: Mast cells keep cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate, the signal that tells the cell to stay quiet) low through PDE4. Low cAMP favors degranulation, TNF (tumor necrosis factor, a core inflammatory cytokine), IL-6 (interleukin-6, the fever and fatigue cytokine), and the leukotriene arm. Ibudilast raises cAMP by blocking that enzyme, so the cell is less willing to dump. Older pharmacology also gives it leukotriene-receptor antagonism, which is the part an H1 blocker (histamine H1 receptor blocker) never covers. MIF is released by mast cells and then calls more inflammation in. Blocking MIF shortens that loop. TLR4 is how endotoxin and mold fragments prime the mast cell before a food arrives. Ibudilast antagonizes TLR4 and cuts the MyD88 (the adaptor that carries the TLR4 signal inward) and NF-kB (nuclear factor kappa B, the transcription switch for inflammatory genes) traffic underneath it. Long COVID: The persistent form is not a missing antihistamine. It is microglia that stayed on, TLR4 still ligated by residual inflammatory signals, and mast cells firing on a lowered threshold. Ibudilast crosses into the brain, suppresses glial activation, and raises cerebral blood flow. That is the cognitive half: processing speed and the wired-but-exhausted feeling track perfusion and glial noise more than they track dopamine. MIF and TLR4 are the systemic half. They keep the cytokine set point high after the virus is gone. PDE4 blockade in immune cells pulls TNF, IL-1Ξ² (interleukin-1 beta, the inflammasome cytokine), and IL-6 down. People whose long COVID looks like MCAS, POTS-adjacent flares (postural orthostatic tachycardia, the heart-rate jump on standing), brain fog, and post-exertional inflammatory crashes are the overlap this molecule was built for, even though the Japanese label never used those words.

October is Vaccine Injury Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we’ll be highlighting members of our community who have turned their pain into purpose by using their experiences to support others, raise awareness, and create change. You can join us by creating your own Vaccine Injury Awareness Month profile picture frame to show your support: coverse.org.au/profile-photo… If you’d like to help React19 continue supporting the vaccine-injured community, consider making a donation: react19.org/donate
