MTN gives you only 11.92GB for 130ghc, the same 130ghc gives you 320GB, unlimited calls, Unlimited text, and an additional 15GB as Roaming in Italy. Data bundles prices are just robbery in Ghana, and Sam George should do something ASAP.
Some people dey advocate for the school to improve its quality, you too dey defend the school. Some people dey advocate for cheaper data so everyone can benefit, you too dey defend the telcos. Someone dey advocate for the government to pay people for the work they have already done so they can feed their families, you too dey defend the government. Gyimie paa deɛ, Awurade Nyankopɔn! 😭😓☹️
And one fool will tell you how much tax Ghanaians pay as compared to the US or Europe. Tax nkoaaa 103.18 GHC that’s 26%.
I will be speaking with Dormaahene this coming week about UENR and the concerns and frustrations of many current students and alumni.
UENR has been like this for over 10 years, and the authorities have done a terrible job. Stop applying there. Consider other universities or use the Common App to apply to schools abroad. UENR charges fees as if it were a top-tier university, yet its infrastructure tells a different story. Current students should consider withdrawing and exploring better options.
The strongest message UENR students can send is for many to withdraw and for prospective students to stop applying. Consider other universities or use the Common App to apply to schools abroad. If the authorities are unwilling to improve the infrastructure, students should seriously reconsider attending UENR.
This is UENR’s total fees, which exceeds GH₵5,000, with university charges alone costing over GH₵1,700. Looking at the school’s poor infrastructure, the total fees shouldn’t even exceed GH₵300. I honestly wonder whether students visit the campus before accepting admission and paying these fees.
Another way UENR students can push for improvements through their advocacy is by telling the NDC that they risk losing students’ votes if these issues remain unresolved. There are serious safety concerns, including excessive dust and poor road conditions around classrooms, yet the government continues to allow this situation. These conditions could even justify temporarily closing the school until improvements are made. This is a very important advocacy effort. Keep pushing. We support you 10000%!
If the highest tuition fee at Legon is GH₵5,800, then UENR should be charging around GH₵250, considering the state of its infrastructure. If you consider yourselves a developing university, then charge tuition fees of no more than GH₵250 until your infrastructure improves.
Students at UENR should organize a peaceful demonstration to demand improvements from the university authorities. The media will cover it, and we will all share it to amplify their concerns.
Sunyani Senior High School has far better infrastructure than UENR. The UENR authorities have been sleeping for far too long. The school’s infrastructure is terrible. Don’t let the pictures you see online deceive you. Visit the campus and see for yourself. UENR’s infrastructure standards are extremely low.
This is an entrance to UENR’s campus, which many cars use daily. I took this picture almost 3 years ago, and if you go there today, it might still look the same. I don’t know what the authorities are doing there, but the school’s infrastructure is absolutely terrible.
Stop defending UENR. I was admitted there years ago, but I attended classes fewer than 5 times in a semester before dropping out. The school’s infrastructure is absolutely terrible, and I believe over 70% of SHSs in Ghana have far better infrastructure. They seriously need to improve.
If Cheddar ever decides to run again, he should consider including a 30-day unlimited data package costing no more than GH₵150 on MTN, with even cheaper packages on other networks, in his campaign policies, along with a clear and realistic plan for implementing it. I believe such a policy could attract significant voter support. If the NDC fails to deliver on affordable data, a different political party but not the NPP could have an opportunity to present a credible alternative. He should make this a major campaign promise, position it as his flagship policy, and build his other policies around it. He might be surprised by how much support it attracts.
It’s good that people are now calling out the poor infrastructure at UENR. Back in 2024, I made a post about a death trap at their entrance. The state of their infrastructure is really terrible.
Not long ago, I visited a friend at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani, and I can't believe there is this death trap at their entrance, allowing students and parents to risk their lives and property. According to the students, it has been like this for more than three years, with the authorities failing to do their jobs.
I genuinely want to understand this. Why do people call Cheddar a scammer? His seized properties have been returned, and I haven’t seen any reports of an FBI case against him, unlike what we’ve seen involving some NPP and NDC MPs. I believe this narrative is being pushed by certain people to prevent the rise of a third political force. But I could be wrong, and I genuinely want to understand. What credible evidence supports these allegations against him?
You price your items at an exchange rate of GH₵12 per dollar, even when the current rate is GH₵11.50, because you know the rate is unlikely to exceed GH₵12, reducing your risk of losses. That is what we call conservative pricing.
Replying to @tech_twi
Unstable rates .. this month alone the dollar has moved from 11.5 to 12 and now back to 11.5 if you are a business person how do work with this !
I know the NDC has performed poorly on many of the policies they campaigned on, giving people false hope, especially when it comes to jobs. However, they have done an incredible job with the exchange rate. They promised to keep it between GH₵10 and GH₵12 per dollar, which has allowed investors to plan and price accordingly. So far, it has remained within that range. Hopefully, they apply the same energy to other areas.
