LayerChart 0.55.0 released with a 2 nice features:
✅ New `Marker` component for drawing arrowheads or polymarkers on Line, Spline, Axis, etc
✅ `Brush` component adds new `labels` prop and slot to show labels beside each axis handle to show selected range, and also improves date handling
as well as a few improvements:
✅ Renamed a few slot names from kebob-case (`above-marks`) to camelCase (`aboveMarks`) to fix compat. with Svelte 5 {#snippet}.
✅ Render axis slot above marks (Bars, Lines, etc) to enable axis labels on top of marks

Adding a <Marker> component for LayerChart, which has a lot of use cases (axis, geo path, annotation, etc), and is also part of a bigger feature coming soon..
Does anyone else use the @sveltejs REPL (err playground) as just a "web" REPL? I constantly use it to quickly...
✔︎ Validating some JS logic
✔︎ Understand a NPM package / API
✔︎ Mock out a CSS use case
...and so much more.
The main strengths compared to other solutions
✔︎ Instant feedback as you type (JS, CSS, etc)
✔︎ Import many NPM packages using a simple import (i.e. no `package.json`)
✔︎ Share a link
I have almost 400 saved REPLs, and those are just the ones I decided to keep around.
This comes from someone who also has a lot of "REPLs" on @CodePen, @codesandbox, @stackblitz and occasionally uses npm.runkit.com/. Some of those handle a few use cases, but not as well as the svelte REPL (imo).
If I'm testing a SvelteKit use case, I'll reach for @stackblitz or SvelteLab, but typically I'll stub out a new local project for those (`sv` 🎉)

Do you know your server latencies?
I made a tool to easily visualize AWS region latencies around the globe. These are important numbers to keep in mind for any engineer building applications in the cloud.

will cool it with the launch week self-promo soon, but: it's so gratifying to see feedback like this (from my @viteconf talk, up today youtube.com/watch?v=KC6IolBu…, and from /r/sveltejs)
we took risks! but we only could because you were prepared to take them with us. thank you 🧡

just saw tsh.io/state-of-frontend/
three guesses which "attractively thin, graceful and stylish" framework has the highest liked : disliked ratio
I've got a good number of lines/files I'll be throwing at it 🔜 (@SvelteUX, @LayerChart, ...) although already leveraged it on a small project with amazing results 🎉
Only issue I encountered was...
Svelte error: props_invalid_value
Cannot do bind:value={undefined} when value has a fallback value
...which was trivial to fix by setting a default (instead of having it populate upward from the <Component bind:value>)
diff:
- let curve = $state(undefined);
+ let curve = $state(curveLinear);
Well done @sveltejs maintainers👏
230K lines of Svelte code migrated to version 5, in merely hours.
Honestly impressed by how quick these migrations go!

We want to provide a smooth and understandable upgrade story, which is why we're not only talking about _what_ changed, but also _why_ we did change it
Migration guide is incredible holy shit
