Here the thing- $tel never played the retail crypto game, and many people hate them for it. Retail crypto was never the target audience. The bank never needed to sell tokens to fund operations- they had other investments. Marketing budgets were held in reserve until now. Community ownership of the network and the token meant decisions were slow and collaberative. There was no attempt to manipulate the price, and that infuriates the impatient, the day traders, and the TA Tea Leaf readers. Over and over all the criticism of $tel comes down to this- "Why won't telcoin just act like a memecoin? They're an ALT, so they can't possibly act like a business." What happens now is a structural reallignment of the crypto space, because the biggest ALT in crypto is going to success by doing something obvious: It's going to be a business.

Yesterday's 50th @TelcoinTAO Platform & Treasury Council meeting was a big one. We finally got an actual mainnet launch timeline, some encouraging updates on telecom partnerships, major exchanges, and a much clearer picture of what's coming over the next several weeks. A lot was covered, so here's a recap. First, MAINNET. Grant laid out the schedule: November 16: Targeted code freeze. December 2: Genesis ceremony and the official start of Telcoin Network with its first 10 validators. Mid December: Public mainnet access, including bridging, wallet connectivity and public RPC infrastructure. The two weeks following Genesis will give operators time to finalize configurations, complete bridge transactions with LayerZero and bring the remaining infrastructure online. Grant said he considers missing December 2 very unlikely, although security and a successful launch remain the priority. Now, the validators and telecom partnerships. The initial 10 validator operators are being finalized over the next two weeks. Their applications will then begin appearing on the governance forum, with announcements about the organizations involved expected soon. Grant sounded particularly confident about the initial group, describing them as strong partners who genuinely want to see the network succeed. They're intentionally starting with 10 rather than rushing to onboard as many operators as possible. The plan is to establish a stable network first, then accelerate validator onboarding and staking in 2027. And speaking of telecom operators, there was another pretty significant development. On November 4, Parker Spann (@P4Cap) and Telcoin's strategic telecom advisor David Palmer (@Metaversebizz) presented Telcoin Network at the Telecom Council's Innovation Review in Palo Alto, California. This is an industry-only group with members including AT&T, British Telecom, Swisscom and TelefΓ³nica. Telcoin was one of only a few projects invited to present. They covered the network's role as a blockchain and token standard for telecommunications, decentralized governance, bank-issued digital currencies, and something particularly interesting: phone-number-based identity and KYC for AI agents. David has already been working on that identity concept through proof-of-concept and MVP development. The broader pitch was that telecom operators already operate around shared standards for voice, SMS, data and roaming. Telcoin wants to establish a shared standard for financial settlement as well. According to Grant, the presentation went extremely well. Parker and David were even given an opportunity to deliver a second presentation to other interested parties who had missed the first. Because of the event's confidentiality rules, they couldn't disclose who expressed interest or what was discussed privately. No new telecom partnerships were formally announced. Still, getting Telcoin in front of these industry decision-makers, with mainnet weeks away, is a pretty encouraging development. There was also some good news regarding exchanges. Grant (@9rantkee) said discussions with several larger exchanges are in their final stages. He believes the majority have already made it through legal review. Leo has been coordinating with the protocol team to arrange technical calls with exchange engineers to handle the TEL token migration. The expectation is that we'll begin seeing official exchange support before the end of 2026. No exchange names or confirmed dates were provided, but it sounds like progress is being made. LayerZero and the network infrastructure. Grant confirmed that bridging is already functional end to end on testnet. LayerZero and the initial applications will have network access following the December 2 Genesis ceremony, with public bridging and standard EVM wallet access expected by mid December. They also discussed continued performance testing, security hardening and the network's use of observer nodes to handle read requests while validators focus on consensus and settlement. One council member mentioned recovering a testnet observer node and getting it synchronized again in roughly 30 seconds. TELx is preparing for mainnet too. Two new liquidity pools are proposed for Telcoin Network: TEL/WETH and TEL/eUSD. The Association is also seeking funding to integrate the network with Merkl, which already handles TELx liquidity mining rewards. The estimated integration cost is a one-time $20,000, with 9,690,275 TEL requested from Treasury to cover the portion not funded by the existing TELx operational wallet. The associated proposal would expand TELx to nine pools across Ethereum, Polygon, Base and Telcoin Network, using Uniswap v3 infrastructure on the new chain. Importantly, the existing 3.5 million TEL weekly liquidity incentive budget would remain unchanged. Rewards would be redistributed across the expanded pool lineup rather than increasing emissions. Both proposals still require the necessary governance approvals, and rewards would begin after integration and the appropriate campaign transition. A few other updates: The new unified telcoin.network website is live, bringing governance, developer resources, the roadmap and TELx together under one home. The team also reminded holders to complete the TEL3 upgrade, with the existing migration portal remaining available. And Grant confirmed that a much larger marketing and user acquisition effort is planned for 2027, once the network is publicly operational and developers can start bringing users onto it. I've followed Telcoin for years, and what stood out to me about this meeting wasn't just getting a launch date. It was hearing how many different pieces are now being coordinated around that launch. Validators being finalized. Telecom executives hearing the pitch. Exchanges preparing migrations. LayerZero bridge infrastructure being readied. Liquidity pools being planned for the native chain. There are still announcements to come and plenty of execution ahead, but we're finally getting specific dates and concrete details on how this is all coming together. December is shaping up to be a pretty important month for $TEL. Watch the full meeting recap here: youtube.com/watch?v=eJEcZ4B4… One last thing worth mentioning is @Telcoin's Stake & Refer program. Unlike traditional staking that pays inflationary rewards, Stake & Refer lets you earn a percentage of the actual transaction fees generated by users you refer, potentially up to 42% depending on how much TEL you stake. As more users join the ecosystem, building a referral network early could create a recurring income stream tied to real network activity. Of course, that depends on the transaction volume your referrals generate. You'll need a referral code to get started. If you don't have one, feel free to use mine! Referral Code: 8450b1264eb

Telcoin Network locks in December for its mainnet launch @telcoin has set out the final steps: a code freeze on November 16, genesis on December 2, and a public launch in mid-December, starting with the first set of validators. Only mobile phone carriers that belong to the GSMA, the global mobile industry body, will be able to confirm transactions on the chain, staking $TEL and earning network fees in return. The Telcoin Association (@TelcoinTAO) produces and governs the network.

Phone Companies Run This Your phone company might be running a blockchain right now. Telcoin is a network secured by actual mobile phone companies acting as validators. And it's the first properly regulated digital asset bank in the US. Now they've thrown the doors wide open to developers. No application. No approval. No membership. They call it the Open Path. If you can code, you can start building on it today. What do they want built? Real-world money stuff. Sending money abroad to family. Paying at shops with instant currency conversion. Savings and credit tied to your phone number. Rewards that pay out instantly. And if you've ever built on Ethereum, your tools already work. Just point them at Telcoin and go. A bank-regulated, phone-company-run blockchain that anyone can build on. That's not something you see every day. Would you trust your phone company with your money more than your bank?
