one of my favourite things about this octovier marathon is picking up on specific consistent details throughout the various memoria and story chapters in particular, it's the fact that xavier is always so observant and aware of us at any given moment, and it's the little physical actions he does to care for us adjusting our headband before it slips (winter's sun), fixing the backpack strap on our shoulder (voyage of the outcast), bringing his own backpack on dates so we don't have to carry anything (dawn to dusk / unique aftertaste), his habit of placing slippers right at our feet when visiting his home, always walking on the side of traffic (seeker of light), always smoothing out our brow when it furrows from stress, protecting our head from bumping against car windows (succumb) and that's just to name a few. he can spot injuries on us as small as scrapes immediately, he can tell something's off by the slightest change in our behaviour. he's always so attentive i think it means a lot to me especially because i wish i had that to some degree, my family is very cognizant of me at all times; they can tell when my body is about to collapse or when my joints are about to lock and drop what's in my hands. people around me have to be aware of me at all times because my health and safety depend on it but to have a partner who is so in tune with your entire being, who fixes little problems before they can even become a problem, who thinks ahead but is also extremely perceptive in the moment, it's something i wish for and i really love that about xavier
