Yesterday was #happypuppyday and I need to share that two weeks ago both of our puppies were shot, Captain was killed and Cosmos severely wounded, and is still struggling for his life. In Texas, #AnimalCruelty is a felony and hopefully we'll get #justice; our hearts are broken.
Dear @SouthwestAir WTF!
Third flight with long unexplained delays! Have watched an entire episode of #TerminalList waiting on the plane to pull back. Ready to send Reece after your new private equity owners!
Paging @danawhite @WWE I'd pay to see this one!

Driving home from Nashville a few days ago, the wife wanted to stop in Franklin to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Obedient to her wishes as I am, I make the detour and park. As we strolled along the square, I see an older man sitting alone on a bench. Being the sort who initiates conversation with strangers, I say jokingly:
“You look like a man who is waiting for his wife while she spends his money.”
He gives me a wan smile and replies: “I wish I was.” His voice cracks. “She passed away last November.”
We stop. I extend a sympathetic hand. He shakes it and rises to greet us. Lauri asks him about his wife, and he tells us what a wonderful woman she was and of their 50 years of marriage. His eyes welling with tears, he says he comes to the square and sits on that bench daily to reminisce about her because it was their spot for decades. He seems glad to have someone, even strangers, with whom he can talk.
We chat a bit longer, exchange numbers, and I ask him if we can pray for him. A believer, he readily accepts the offer. So, right there on the square in Franklin we pray for the Lord’s comforting presence and peace in his loss. We open our eyes and, at that very moment, a woman walks by hurriedly and reaches for the bench behind this fellow. Only I see it, and I think she might be stealing his phone which he had left on the bench when he rose to speak with us.
I walk to the bench to investigate and see that she’s left a card, a little plastic dove glued on it, proclaiming the hope of John 3:16. I look up to see her far down the sidewalk, her brisk pace undiminished, placing them everywhere in her own evangelistic endeavor. God bless her for it.
Lauri and I wished our new friend well and proceeded to shop. I bought a new vest at her encouragement — “It looks good on you” — and she bought some aromatic candles — “cinnamon vanilla.” But all the while we were thinking of this man and the seemingly coincidental nature of our meeting. The Lord had used us to visibly encourage him.
I cannot tell you the number of times I have had such encounters simply because I spoke to a stranger: a taxi driver who told me someone had murdered his daughter; a waitress who cried when I told her she was doing a good job; a contractor who, just last week, revealed to me how the Lord had delivered him from meth addiction when I was sharing the Gospel with him; and a young woman who looked unsettled and I simply asked her what troubled her so.
There are people all around you who carry secret burdens, and the Lord puts you in their path for a reason. Do you notice them? Or do you press on to “more important” things? Pray that the Lord gives you eyes to see them and the heart to minister to them. It will do you as much good as you do them.
Just voted in eastern Travis county, Democrat stronghold. Took less than 10 minutes in and out. #Vote

.@GregAbbott_TX is out with a new broadcast ad that's the first bio piece I've seen in this general election from the gov, and it's also aimed at black and hispanic men. #txlege
Well done @_delconte, sportsmanship on and off the field extends to the entire community.
Texas athletics director Chris Del Conte released a statement on the behavior of the fan in this video from @ATXANT10:
“I want to address the video circulating on social media showing unacceptable behavior by an individual who had the privilege of field access following Saturday's game. We pride ourselves on sportsmanship and treating our opponents with respect. This individual's actions did not reflect those values or meet our standards and will not be tolerated. The matter has been addressed internally, and I want to personally apologize to the University of Florida and its entire football program. Having access to our field comes with a responsibility to represent Texas with class and respect. This individual failed to uphold that responsibility and has been permanently banned from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.”

What’s more incredible that @McConaughey does stuff like this on a semi regular basis…..and then disappears.
He doesn’t donate to anything
He doesn’t vote
He’s never gonna run.
Just another self absorbed Hollywood bozo who can’t help himself.
Matthew McConaughey, who in 2021 the Texas Tribune reported had voted just twice in the past decade, lectures us on elections before early voting starts tomorrow.

Can someone please explain it to me like I’m 5 why people are more outraged that Elon built a car that actually flies than they are that Gavin Newsom’s California has spent $15.6 billion over nearly 18 years on a bullet train that still doesn’t move.

You may have heard that a ballot marked with initials or other writing may disqualify your ballot, but that is a misconception. In fact, the presiding election judge for a polling place or the early voting clerk must sign or initial the ballots in Texas. Don't let misinformation confuse you.
For a little perspective, here's a look at the partisan spread acros all Texas media markets and geographies -- helps to equally weight your message testing and polling across across all markets. #TxLege #TexasSenate #Texas thx @longhornderek #DataDude

After watching yet another frustrating and undisciplined weekend of college football performed by overpaid coaches and players, I have an idea: Monday morning quarterbacking, meets Hell’s Kitchen meets coach Saban
And because we know @sabanfaux would never wait til Monday to fix his team problems - see 7:30 am post national championship team meeting - I give you Sunday Sessions With Saban.
Sunday Sessions with Saban — Saturday’s paycheck. Sunday’s reckoning.
Every Sunday morning, Nick Saban turns the film room into college football’s toughest performance review. The subjects: highly paid coaches whose Saturday decisions left fans screaming at their televisions.
The central premise: If players face accountability for missed assignments, coaches should face accountability for the decisions that created them.
Saban controls the remote. The tape supplies the evidence. Reputation, salary and excuses carry no weight.
A proposed 45-minute episode would feature:
“Explain That.” Saban freezes three disastrous plays and examines the coaching decisions behind them.
“That’s a Coaching Problem.” Repeated penalties, poor preparation and blown assignments get traced back to leadership.
“The Million-Dollar Decision.” One baffling call gets dissected: clock management, fourth-down strategy or abandoning something that was working.
“You Worked for Me.” The former-assistant segment adds a personal edge: the teacher reviewing whether his pupils learned anything.
“Run It Again.” Saban shows the adjustment that could have changed the outcome.
“Next Saturday’s Assignment.” Each coach receives three concrete corrections, revisited the following week.
