That’s how long I gave myself to get most of my six-pack back: by today, my 43rd birthday.
I had put on some weight while experimenting with carbohydrates on and off after more than half a decade of eating mostly carnivore.
Five or so years on almost zero carbs had me feeling so much better than I did with pre-diabetes, depression, and other chronic issues on a Standard American Diet™. But I started realizing my energy was seriously dipping, especially after workouts. So I needed to change things up.
Meat, eggs, seafood, poultry, fish, and organs like liver are still central to my diet. Lately, though, I’ve been leaning more into high protein — especially chicken and fish, around 30–50% of daily calories — while keeping fats more moderate, usually under 100 g per day.
I also continue to avoid ultra-processed, industrial, food-like products and focus on whole, natural foods.
Bio-individuality really is a thing. For me, high protein helps me stay lean and rebuild, too much added fat tends to soften me up, and natural carbs have been giving me the quicker fuel I needed. I’m incorporating some rice and other carbs here and there, but currently focusing on organic fruit for energy density, nutrient density, and training fuel.
So, 49 days later, I’d say I’m pretty much there. A little fuller from glycogen and water, but with more energy, better workouts, and better momentum. The goal was to look lean again without losing the fuel to train, think, create, and actually live my life. That feels like progress.

So they poison the entire wheat supply just to speed the drying time which gets farmers paid 3-4 days earlier than allowing wheat to dry in the sun (which is how it's been done for centuries).
