Finally something I can agree with Eric on. I just wish he was self-aware enough to understand exactly how his ideas on Genesis 1 fit his definition of eisegesis and not exegesis.
A lot of bad theology starts with a simple mistake: reading our ideas INTO Scripture instead of drawing God’s meaning OUT of Scripture.
That’s the difference between eisegesis and exegesis. The goal isn’t to make the Bible say something relevant to us. The goal is to understand what God actually said, then faithfully apply that truth to our lives today.
Individuals like this do significant harm to Christianity. He tries to call me a troll and say that I contradict the Bible without recognizing the fact that his original comment negates his claim about me. And then when I point that out he goes silent without repentance.

Dinesh is clearly overstating their significance of the Tel Dan stella. Simply because it speaks of the House of David does not mean anything about the historical figure. David. It is evidence in favor of his existence but it is not nearly as conclusive as Dinesh seems to think.

The discovery in the early 1990s of the Tel Dan Stele—a 9th century BC victory monument from the king of Syria celebrating his victory over the “House of David”—came as an unpleasant surprise.
So rattled were the minimalists that one of its key members, Niels Peter Lemche, promptly declared the artifact a forgery.
Unfortunately for him the discovery was made by Avraham Brian, an archaeologist with an impeccable reputation.
Not only that, but a second fragment of the same stele was unearthed from the ground in the same location a couple of years later.
Today no serious scholar doubts the authenticity of the Tel Dan Steele confirming both King David and his dynasty the House of David.
I'm amazed that people can say this with a straight face when we Republicans are lying about pastors who are in elections. How is it helping Christianity to vote for people who lie about Christians?

Hugh is simply wrong. He is completely misrepresenting the Bible and creating all sorts of problems for his interpretation. This is what happens when you try to read Genesis 1 as science. It was never meant to be read as science and it is wrong to impose these ideas on the text.
Genesis 1's description of creation day 4 does NOT say God created the stars during the 4th creation day. Rather, it states God made the stars at unspecified times and that they became visible to creatures on Earth's surface for the first time on creation day 4. The strong message seems to be that these two will defend abusers and use them to inflict pain on victims just to stay in power. That doesn't represent Ohio. Ohio taught me as a little boy to defend girls especially when they are attacked, not to side with their abusers.
This seems to be the average Joel Webbon supporter. Joel says 40% of the US population "needs to go" referring to the entire non-white population of the US. And I'm met with "they're all illegal".
I doubt he will fight for Ohio if he is willing to promote someone's abuser if that person is getting in the way of what he wants. Fighting for Ohio would include not siding with abusers against victims.
Good for Gov. DeWine. Ramaswamy's behavior in airing the commercial and defending it is reprehensible.

Joel claims he never said Black and Hispanic Christians should be deported. Somehow all non-whites shouldn't be here but that doesn't include Christians which make up almost 75% of Blacks and Hispanics or 34% of Asian Americans. Math doesn't seem to be his strength.
When a person who wants to deport all black Hispanic Christians from our country says a person is wicked. I tend to think that the person they are describing is probably decent.
