Marrying need with willingness to spend have to think Yanks, Phils, Mariners and maybe RedSox are the other obvious fits for Sato other than NYM. Then there’s always the possibility of dark horse options like CHW was. Washington? Arizona? Detroit?

Low key Holmes was not good with Chicago and looked pretty rough stuff wise dating back to his rehab. thought his stuff would tick up this year after adjusting to starter schedule but it went opposite and he’s a pure junk baller now. This is the Zack Littel Express. Stay away.
YES/NO: Should the Mets look to re-sign Clay Holmes for their starting rotation?

Finding the literal one important hit he had the entire season for this post (from April) is amazing. He’s Alec Bohm with better marketing. He stinks lol. Negative athlete, no pop, maybe passable defensively for now but will never be valuable there.
I would like to see the #Mets & Bo Bichette work out a long-term extension this winter. Renegotiating to a 5-6 year deal will save at least $15M-$18M a year, creating payroll flexibility to spend elsewhere. He’s exactly the type of hitter we need to balance out the other top hitters -> plus he’s a proven October performer. He can play 3B or 2B & even SS in a pinch if needed. He’s also a great clubhouse fit -> we got to see a glimpse of his potential after a rough start. Last thing we need is for him to sign a 5-6 year deal with the #Redsox & especially the #Phillies, both teams are motivated to adding him after their quick exits from the playoffs. I would choose Bichette over almost every one of the big FA hitting the market after 2028 & 2029 seasons, & let’s face it, we simply won’t have the $$ nor the fit for Ronald Acuna. #LGM #MetsTwitter

You want the empty calorie infield bat? Arraez does this gimmick much better. But that’s not what we need. No better evidence of this than a team desperately holding onto its season intentionally walking Soto even without an empty 1B continuously in a series with no fear.

I mean this game was probably their best offense effort? What is he talking about? How about the effort against MAINE? Or zero offense after the first quarter against Rutgers?
O'Brien: "We have to be better offensively. We know that. We’re working hard together to really try and improve it, whether it’s schematically or techniques or maybe different players, whatever it is. We’re all in it together." "No excuse, so I hesitate to say this, but I will say it. It was a driving rainstorm and 40-mile-per-hour gusty winds. That was a difficult game to throw the ball in, and we tried to do the best we could to throw the ball when the wind was at our back. It was a swirling wind. I wouldn’t judge the offense on that game. But we know that we have to be better. We absolutely know that. Hopefully we will."

Really crazy they are going to likely DFA him given what his prospect status was and they gave him a grand total of 350 PA through age 25 while playing guys like Vientos, Baty, Semien - not to mention carrying guys like Wagaman, Morel, Brujan, Acuna in backup IF roles over him.
Right now anyway, Ronny Mauricio will compete for a spot on the roster in Spring Training. He is out of options - he has to make the team in some capacity to remain with the #Mets.

He should (and Mauricio) be playing 2b and 3B which is where you need to find better solutions.
Brett Baty will make his first career start at shortstop today, as the Mets take looks at some different things late in the season.

Really disappointed we’re just going to DFA Mauricio without really ever giving him a run of regular work. Having Marcus Semien play essentially every game he was not on IL this year despite being out of it by mid April is a real head scratcher.

First really good move this team has made in a hot second. Hope he gets to hire a staff he picks not this weird Stearns smorgasbord.
BREAKING: The Mets have named Andy Green their full-time manager He has signed a three-year deal with the club

lol. Amazing. The master plan was to build a $400m payroll and reset for 4 years.
Do people think the Mets hiring a GM is going to change much? They’re still going to build from within, likely not spend much in 27 & maybe even 28 & wait for the impact from the farm to hopefully show sustainability & then & only then strike with impact signings or free agents.

The owner literally applauded the moment. This is all performative nonsense. But by all means- you are a better Xzayvion Curry fan than I am!!! I hope you stay loyal to his career- oh wait, Nevermind we don’t root for players just laundry.
I hope you all enjoyed slobbering over Pete the last 3 days & making fools of yourselves. This quote says all you need to know about him, he is all PR fluff & could give 2 shits about the fans. He is selfish & always has been. How come there were no videos of Mets players pregame out talking to him like we have seen with other players? Telling! Orioles are in last place just like the Mets, same games back basically. AL is a mess only reason they are hanging in WC, which they won’t get. Stearns isn’t getting fired & Cohen is laughing at you all as the park was full & folks were spending money at the park. So great job by all!! I think that message was really sent. Fools 🤪😎

From your lips to Bo’s ears
I predict Bichette will opt out. He's done just enough lately for a long-term deal elsewhere. Makes the most financial sense for him to take that over his current Met contract, albeit obviously for far less AAV.

What a cuck fan amirite “smart” Mets twitter?!
Steve Cohen just offered this response after I inquired about the video circulating of him applauding Pete Alonso's home run the other night: "It was his 300th. I gotta give him props," Cohen said.

Some folks spent 2 days upset Mets fans weren't rooting hard enough for their team to win only to see the organization literally tell you "WE DONT CARE ABOUT WINNING THESE GAMES" by using 3 guys who won't be in the org by 11/1 to simply eat up a game and run out the clock.
Some folks really spent 3 days draped in Orioles gear, booing their own team at home, paying for tickets to “boycott,” so Pete could turn around & say “I love Mets & Yankee fans!” I believe the phrase is, “congratulations, you played yourself.” 🤣 #LGM

How DARE Mets fans cheer for Pete Alonso and not trust David Stearns blindly and cheer for (checks notes) Xzayvion Curry who will definitely be a Met for another 4 days or so! Cheer for the laundry no matter who is in it and not the humans like a good fan would!
Pete Alonso does it AGAIN at Citi Field! Career homer #301 gives the Orioles a lead in the first 😤

Huge red flag for FA having a fan base booing their FO for putting forth a view that paying premium FA is bad.
If you think free agents are coming here to be around this collection of fans, you are delusional

Whatever clutch gene Pete has always possessed, Francisco Alvarez is just the exact opposite. Dude absolutely shits himself in any high leverage spot.

Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. So you don’t root for players you root for who the billionaire owners decide to roster regardless of who the players are? Why even watch live then, just root for box score results after lol.
Actually shameful behavior. Celebrating what a player has done for your team and even congratulating him on a big accomplishment is one thing but actively rooting for an opponent and against your team is the biggest loser shit ive ever seen

Replace “Alonso fan” with “Mets fan” and “Mets fan” with “Weird Stearns Apologist” and this is super accurate!
Alonso fan: “I’m rooting for Pete to hit his 300th HR tonight.” Mets fan: “I’m rooting for Lindor to hit his 300th HR tonight.” A small, one-word difference tells me everything I need to know about you. #LGM
