42 years ago, I was a gay (closeted) teen starting my first year of college, experiencing anxiety & suicidal ideation on a fairly constant basis: certain that my LGBTQ status would deprive me of family, children, professional success.
Yesterday, my younger daughter moved into her college residence hall as a first year. On Monday, my older daughter began her third year.
Our three-parent family exists & thrives because of progress made at the state & federal level & community by community.
Love conquers hate, even if it takes some time.

Think back to 2006, last midterm w/ an unpopular war/GOP president. Where were the biggest House upsets? Places like IN, IA, KS, MN (Tim Walz!), NH, OH, WI, Upstate NY.
That's why I think the Midwest & places w/ lots of secular white voters are especially ripe for surprises.
