Grateful to Stacey Balkun for selecting my poem "Nocturne" from For Today (@lsupress, 2024) for August of the glorious 2025 @UAPoetryCenter calendar. Humbled to be among these 11 tremendous poets, esp. New Orleanians @MonaLisaSaloy and @andimuse.
"As the new year begins, it can be tempting to limit our scope to the 'fresh start' of January and lose sight of the months that follow. New starts are also cyclical, and as we turn the pages on a calendar, we’re turning both forward and back in time."

What a gorgeous, heartbreaking poem from @CarolynHembree. This book is a knockout, and I can’t wait for us all to have it in our hands.
