Before 2014 and After 2014 - The difference is clear!
A glimpse of how PM Modi transformed everyday life in India.

For Narendra Modi, festivals have always been the bridge for community unity.
Since his early days as an RSS Pracharak, he championed the belief that our festivals and traditions shouldn't remain private celebrations confined to individual homes, but should be movements that bind society together.
Gopal Bhatt, an RSS karyakarta recalls a powerful example from Dhanduka, Gujarat, where Narendra Modi urged the locals to organize Dussehra as a grand community festival. To build a genuine sense of shared ownership, he suggested micro-crowdfunding, asking families to contribute whatever small change they could spare, even if it was just a few coins.
That simple act of collective participation transformed a local gathering into a movement of social harmony where every resident felt included.
This exact vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ has defined his service across the decades, whether as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, when he built Vibrant Navratri into a symbol of community togetherness, or as Prime Minister, when he inspired over a billion Indians to light diyas together for the Ram Mandir Pratistha, turning a sacred milestone into a national celebration of unity.

Every Navratri, India comes alive with the beats of Garba, colourful chaniya cholis and nights filled with music and devotion. Today, this celebration has fans across the world and even a place on UNESCO’s heritage list!
As Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi gave this beloved tradition a bigger platform. In 2003, Vibrant Navratri at Ahmedabad’s GMDC Ground brought Garba and Gujarat’s festive spirit to a wider audience, helping more people experience the magic of the nine nights.
The idea extended beyond the dance floor. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was launched in 2003 during Navratri, giving international delegates a chance to experience Gujarat’s cultural traditions alongside its business and investment opportunities.
As Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has continued to celebrate this heritage. In 2023, he wrote a Garba song of his own. That December, Garba of Gujarat earned a place on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
From Navratri celebrations in Gujarat to Garba nights across the world, the tradition continues to bring people together through devotion, music and dance.

Like asking retiring bureaucrats to write down their experiences before they leave. It’s called “Anubhav”.
Or asking senior officers to go back to the places of their first postings, years later, and see for themselves what has changed.
And there are many more.
Some initiatives are simple, some are pathbreaking.
Swipe through to discover some fascinating experiments that have changed the way Indian governance works.

DID YOU KNOW - When Narendra Modi became PM, 18,452 villages in India were still unelectrified!
He then took up the mission of taking electricity to every remaining village.
Under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, India achieved 100% electrification of villages.
SAUBHAGYA took the mission from the village further to the doorstep. 2.86 crore households were electrified.
But an earlier chapter of this story was written in Gujarat.
In 2006, as Gujarat CM, he launched Jyotigram Yojana. Took electricity to 18,000 villages.
The achievement drew the attention of none other than President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He travelled to Gujarat, visited a Jyotigram village and dedicated the scheme to the nation.
Jotigram Yojana in just 1,000 days:
• 20 Lakh electric poles installed
• 1 Lakh km of lines laid
• 18,000+ villages electrified
25 years, one enduring journey of Seva.

For most of us, a birthday is a day we make our own.
For Narendra Modi, September 17 has come to mean something different.
A family receives the keys to a new home. A new initiative opens doors for women. A long awaited infrastructure project takes its first step.
Year after year, the day has quietly become more and more about Seva.
Perhaps there is no better way to celebrate another year of life, than by making that day matter in someone else’s.

This is not the first time PM Modi has taken our culture global!
Back at the 2019 SCO Summit, PM Modi spearheaded an initiative to translate 10 modern Indian works into Russian, Chinese, and English so regional literature could reach global audiences. Dr. K. Sreenivasan, Former Secretary of Sahitya Academy, breaks down how this visionary project was executed.
From gifting a Russian translation of Tamil’s timeless Tirukkural at BRICS 2026 to presenting a Russian edition of the Bhagavad Gita to President Putin during his India visit in December 2025, PM Modi's cultural diplomacy is a masterclass in putting Indian heritage front and center on the world stage!
