Here is the number breakdown from dungeon XP.
Classic Baseline > 100XP
Original Nerf (75% cut) = 25XP
October Buff (20% Increase) = 30XP
Today’s Buff (50% increase) = 45XP.
So yes the buff is great.
But sadly it’s not even half of the original XP from dungeon mobs.
It’s a good start. But we need a bit more.

Day 31 of asking the devs to fix dungeon XP.
I FINALLY CAVED AND DECIDED TO TRY RESTEDXP… ONLY TO FIND A QUEUE JUST TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT. 💀😂
An 8-minute queue just to sign up for a leveling guide. You can’t make this stuff up.
We’ve spent weeks hearing that dungeon XP needed to be nerfed because players shouldn’t rush to max level and should instead “explore the world.”
Yet here we are, with players actively seeking guides designed to optimize their leveling efficiency.
So optimizing solo questing is fine, but repeating dungeons with other players is considered a problem? 🤔
I have nothing against RestedXP or people wanting to level efficiently. I just find the irony hilarious.
Is this really the leveling experience the devs wanted to encourage?
Let questers quest and dungeon players dungeon.
Bring back meaningful dungeon XP. Let us enjoy leveling OUR way. ⚔️

discovering they cut dungeon mob exp by 76% to encourage people to quest instead is partially killing wow forever for me tbh, i dont wanna quest thats the most boring part of the game by far

Having put in dozens of hours into WoW Forever at this point, I can confirm that these dungeon exp nerfs feel absolutely terrible.
Bad because:
- not having all the quests is frustrating, so you're essentially just looking up where each quest is as to not int yourself.
- this is made worse most people not wanting to run a dungeon more than once, so you're reforming a party each time. Feels like a call of duty lobby.
- any quest that requires multiple completions feels bad because again, the experience gains are very, very bad.
- no one is re-clearing for items so again, you're forced to re-form a group over and over and over again, then wait for all of them to run across the world to the dungeon (if you want gear!)
- and don't forget enormous healing shortages because leveling through dungeons isn't a thing anymore, so finding a healer takes ages :)))
All of this was done in service of... not having people optionally dungeon grind. Was it worth it? The world already has so many new quests.
Hot take: The system was completely fine. There are other ways to nerf mage boosting.
not being able to grind dungeons in wow forever is so stupid. im level 28 questing solo since the start as a warrior. Its so incredibly tiring fighting for every mob and item in open world vs people on your own faction. Wish I could play WoW instead of a waiting 50% of the time..
Day 30 of asking the devs to fix dungeon XP.
Imagine creating an entire dungeon that half the playerbase has almost ZERO incentive to experience. 💀😂
Take Deadmines, for example. I LOVE that dungeon, but I’m playing Horde. We have no dungeon quests for it, so why would I travel all the way there?
For gear I’ll replace in the next dungeon? 🤔
That’s the problem with making dungeon quests the only meaningful source of XP.
Once the quests are done, or if your faction doesn’t even have any, what’s the incentive to run the dungeon?
We’re turning some of the most iconic content in WoW into one-and-done experiences, or worse, content players never bother experiencing at all.
Dungeon XP should reward the EXPERIENCE itself, not just whether you have a quest to turn in.
Bring back meaningful dungeon XP. Give players a reason to explore ALL of Azeroth. ⚔️

Keep fighting the good fight! Dungeons XP needs to be reverted !
A thread called Dungeons are dead has 254 replies on the Forever forums 💀
Blizzard halved the bonus XP from dungeon quests before launch to push players back outside. Dungeon players say two or three runs with friends are wasted time now, and that tanks and healers lose the only group content leveling offers. Questers answer that dungeons still pay quest XP and loot, and that twenty clears of one instance was never leveling.
Our take: casual dungeon runs took the hit, while dungeon spam is still around. The players who level with friends paid for a race they were never in.
Should dungeon XP go back to Classic levels, or stay cut?
Bring back flex raiding. Nobody wants to fill a 40 man roster.
WoW FOREVER RAIDING DIFFICULTY
"The difficulty we aim for is the typical Naxxramas encounter..."
They also go on to say they want a good PUG culture for the 10 man raid.
I personally loved the "raid ladder" progression of TBC.

Day 29 of asking the devs to fix dungeon XP.
So we nerfed dungeon XP to encourage world exploration… just for everyone to quest solo anyway? 💀😂
From what I’ve experienced, most players are still leveling solo, following quest routes, and rarely grouping up outside of dungeons.
Meanwhile, dungeons are becoming one-and-done content. Complete the quests, grab your gear, and move on.
How is discouraging repeatable group content making the MMO experience better? 🤔
Dungeons bring players together. Meaningful XP gives those groups a reason to keep running content beyond their first clear.
We’re not asking to replace questing. We’re asking for BOTH playstyles to be rewarding.
Stop turning dungeons into checklists. Bring back meaningful dungeon XP!
@ClaytonStone @AggrendWoW @QuestTheLine
This should be changed by now. With how rule sets works and the removal of servers. There’s no point to hold 1 faction per rule set.
Blizzard reminds players that Ruleset choice is permanent in WoW Forever. Players will only be able to create characters of the same Faction on PvP servers, so choose wisely!
