Optimism is a muscle. You don't wake up with it. You build it. Rep by rep, day by day, even when nothing is working in your favor. The people who seem naturally positive? They just started training earlier than you.

Nobody handed me optimism. I had to train it. Through three recessions, a pandemic, and more hard seasons than I can count, I learned that optimism isn't a personality trait. It's a practice. And just like any muscle, if you stop using it, it atrophies. You have to choose it every single day.

Optimism is a muscle. Neglect it and it weakens. Train it and it carries you through everything. Start training.

Stop waiting to feel optimistic before you act. That's backwards. You build optimism by acting, by doing the next right thing even when the outcome is uncertain. The feeling follows the work. It always does.

I have sat in rooms where the numbers were bad, the options felt impossible, and quitting would have been the rational choice. Optimism was never the thing I felt in those rooms. It was the thing I chose. Every single time. Before I had proof it would work. Before anyone else believed it. That's the muscle. And it gets stronger every time you use it when you least want to.
