Drama about the deep and quiet pain of everyday life used to be everywhere on television. Not so much now. I miss it.
Some fine acting from Jean Alexander & Bernard Youens in Coronation Street (1976)

It seems like the reputation on Ghostwatch continues to rise each year which makes it all the more bizarre that the BBC have never repeated it or made it accessible on iPlayer.

50 years! 😲 I caught The New Avengers on it's mid 90's BBC2 repeat run and the odd VHS purchase. I prefer it to the 60's series 🙊 And that initial title sequence was the better of the two used.
50 YEARS AGO TODAY: now, this is how you start a reboot. And it doesn't even get to Peter Cushing as a German suspended animation expert abducted by a neo-Nazi cult who force him to try and resurrect Hitler.

In series 1 of Bullseye, on the prize board, Jim would announce a funny ‘bad’ prize if it went in the wrong segment - “You’ve won DIY brain surgery” or “A trip to resurface the M6”. But nothing can prepare you for this gem #itwasadifferenttime

ITV with one of the best censorship edits ever to Tomorrow Never Dies Cutting the guy strangling Bond so now it just looks like Brosnan is screaming in terror at the plane shooting at him

Fucking hell fire. Turn on this 24/7 corrie thing for the first time and it’s the 1979 episode where Gail turns 21, gets engaged, Elsie finds out and Audrey appears for the first time. This could be the end of other channels for me.

For those of you who haven’t been to HMV Oxford Street for years and think it’s just Funko Pops of Ed Sheeran and Pokémon jelly moulds, this is what their amazing DVD/Blu-ray floor looks like. Use it or lose it.
