Dune 2 IMAX Screen Sizes Megathread:
I made charts for NYC, LA, and DC, and I’m adding some stats for cities including Chicago, Boston, Dallas FW, Vegas, and more.
n.b: Bigger is not always better, any IMAX is bigger than a normal screen, & Dolby is usually a great option too.
Updated diagram of the IMAX screen sizes in the DC area with another theater and current closures - happy Dune 2 premiere week to all locals!
Visiting this post years later? Create your own chart at FindBigScreens.com, a website I created for exactly this!
Seeing #Dune Part Two around NYC? Not all IMAX screens are equal - I mocked up this chart comparing the sizes of screens in the area to show the difference.

If you’re looking at this chart now, good news! You can make your own - I created findbigscreens.com, go ahead and search around your area.
If you were jealous that New York got an IMAX screen chart and your city didn’t…

I made a website where you can compare the premium large format screens near you on a chart just like this!

I made charts like these for several cities around the US for Dune Part Two - now the Odyssey is around the corner, and I created a website where you can create your own chart for any zip code in the US!
Try it and let me know your thoughts!

Got requests for a Los Angeles version of the IMAX screen size chart ahead of #Dune Part Two.
Here’s a look at how several IMAX screens in LA measure up:
I’ve seen people wondering why the minions movie, set in the 20s, seems to be riffing on so many 40s films.
Haven’t seen it yet, but it seems pretty obvious to me that the minions originated citizen Kane and Casablanca, and humans ripped them off two decades later.
This is our generation’s Fatal Attraction: zeitgeist-consuming gender discourse bomb with a thrilling performance at the heart. May Inde have Glenn’s career 💜 (and sure, maybe an Oscar later on)
‘OBSESSION’ is tracking to have the biggest 4th weekend for any horror movie ever.

I’ve texted no fewer than 20 people about the Sheep Detectives, if Variety says it’s performing well due to word of mouth it will be my mouth they’re talking about.
Every year, there’s just about a 75% chance that across the colleges in the US, some legacy student gets assigned their parent’s old dorm room.
We should expect this to happen roughly every year or two.
This movie plot would go crazy 😮💨
Back in 2023, Sarah Bowling got a dorm at Miami University which turned out to be the exact same Emerson Hall room her mom lived in back in 1990. The selection came 100% at random, with odds around 1,099 to one. Her mom even met Sarah’s dad there, so the place def means a lot to their family.

Utter waste of time and resources.
Learning your own signature is situationally useful, but cursive is not something we need to be bothering kids with. Dedicate that effort to teaching them to print, and to type.
Letting our kids be kids also means getting back to the basics. That’s why, earlier this year, I signed into law a bipartisan bill that requires cursive handwriting to be taught in Pennsylvania schools.
It may seem strange, but cursive handwriting is a fundamental skill that all of our kids should learn.
They may not get why now, but that’s how they’ll sign their very first check — or maybe even someday, a bill that gets to the Governor’s desk (trust me, you’ll want good penmanship for that).
And it means they spend more time with a pen — not a tablet — in their hands at school.
This is like if they trained an AI on my brain specifically instead of doing regular audience research
A film adaptation of “Murder, She Wrote” starring Jamie Lee Curtis has been set at Universal for Dec. 22, 2027:
• Curtis will play Jessica Fletcher, the crime writer-turned-detective portrayed by Angela Lansbury in the original TV series
