拢14.10 an hour is now considered the Real Living Wage in Britain. That's around 拢27,500 a year for someone working 37.5 hours a week, before tax. Now imagine you're single. One wage paying the rent, council tax, gas, electric, food, travel, insurance and everything else life throws at you. No second income. Nobody to split the bills with. How are single people actually supposed to survive on that

Half of teenagers say they've witnessed violence. Nearly one in five say they've experienced it themselves. These are kids who should be worrying about exams, friendships and what they're doing at the weekend. Violence shouldn't be a normal part of growing up.

Hit a dog with your car and you're legally required to report it. Hit a cat and you're not. MPs are debating whether that should change after more than 189,000 people signed a petition. To most families, their cat is just as much a part of the family as their dog. Surely they deserve the same protection.

Morning everyone! Monday again. That weekend disappeared pretty quickly, didn't it. If you're heading off to work, hope the day goes smoothly and nobody tests your patience before you've even had your first break. Have a good one. Stay safe and look after yourself. 馃嚞馃嚙

Britain is running out of room to keep taxing and borrowing. That's the warning from former Bank of England chief economist Andy Haldane, who says Andy Burnham risks a Liz Truss-style financial crisis if the government won't make cuts to public spending. The Budget is days away, and even someone who's advised the Prime Minister is warning that Britain can't keep spending money it hasn't got.

Wetherspoons, shame on you. A remembrance poppy is about honouring those who served and died for this country. It shouldn't be treated like a political slogan. A video circulating from Gosport appears to show people being told to leave a pub over wearing remembrance poppies.

You could work six days a week and still struggle to match what someone else receives in benefits. A new report from the Centre for Social Justice found that a particular benefits package worth 拢27,400 a year would take someone earning minimum wage more than 50 hours a week to match after tax. That's not every person on benefits, but it raises a serious question about whether working actually pays enough.

You don't have to believe in God to want Britain to keep its Christian traditions. You can never set foot in a church and still care about Christmas, Easter, our old churches and the traditions generations grew up with. A new think-tank report suggests Christianity still matters to British identity, even among people who aren't particularly religious. Faith is a personal choice. Our history belongs to all of us.

Another 70 Post Office branches are closing or have already shut. Banks have disappeared from our high streets, shops are shutting and now we're losing more Post Offices. For some older people, the Post Office is where they collect their money, pay bills and actually speak to someone face to face. We're losing the very services that keep our towns and villages going.

The clocks went back last night, so we all got an extra hour in bed. Not a bad start to Sunday. Only downside is it'll be getting dark before most of us have even finished work. I'd happily keep the lighter evenings all year round.

55% of Brits surveyed believe our national identity is disappearing because of diversity. That's a lot of people who feel we're losing something. Our traditions, history and way of life matter. There's nothing wrong with wanting to preserve them.

You can murder someone, destroy a family's life, then refuse to even face them in court. Now judges are set to get powers to strip killers of prison privileges, visits and keep them confined to their cells if they refuse to attend sentencing. Those families have already been through enough. They shouldn't have to fight just to see the person responsible face their sentence.

Here we go again. Another push to get Britain back into the EU. The IPPR think tank now wants full EU membership to become a government goal. We had years of Brexit arguments, a referendum and endless political rows. Now it looks like we're heading back into the same debate all over again.

Disabled parking bays aren't there for people who are just popping in for five minutes. They're there for people who actually need them. Yet drivers are still parking in them without a Blue Badge. Being in a rush doesn't give you the right to take a space someone else depends on.

We need to keep cash alive. It gives us privacy, helps us keep track of what we're spending and still works when the card machines don't. More businesses are encouraging people to pay cash again. Once cash is gone, that freedom is gone with it.

You're paying for gas even when you don't use a single bit of it. Every day, another standing charge added to your bill. Now Andy Burnham wants to look at scrapping them. Even if you turn everything off to save money, they still get their cut.

Labour's own ministers can't seem to agree on their immigration policies. Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh wouldn't say whether she backed tougher settlement rules. Now she says she does. If Labour can't even agree among themselves, how are we supposed to believe they'll get immigration under control?

John Swinney wants to cap the price of milk, bread, eggs and chicken in Scotland. Sounds great if you're struggling with the weekly shop. But what's stopping supermarkets putting up the prices of everything else to make their money back? Families need cheaper food, not another clever idea that leaves them paying more somewhere else.
