Our pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, nightclubs and many more, are at the heart of our communities.
They bring people together and bring life to our cities, towns and villages, but they're under huge pressure from rising costs.
In the UK, you pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your pint, meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it's 10%. In Germany? 7%.
Our message to Government is simple. Let's stand together to say VAT at 10% is fair for hospitality.

Real concerns that the Government’s U-turn on the #BusinessRatesBetrayal will be a wholly inadequate sticking plaster.
The unfair & dodgy revaluation MUST be scrapped or bills will still spiral.

A couple of times I paused through the service and had to remind myself it was January. Just amazing how positive our customers are at tackling the dark nights in an early January week of a new year as we set off on another lap round the sun ☀️
We open our doors at 2pm Saturday through till 7pm today.
Hopefully see you for a Saturday pub pit stop on a refreshing pub walk in the lovely dever valley today.
