Whenever a government tries to attract investment to the Maldives, the opposition party often tries to stop it. This has happened under almost every past government. This is sad but truth
The decision is either to abolish the MVR, adopt the USD as legal tender, or exercise full monetary sovereignty

President Trump just ordered U.S. flags lowered to half-staff nationwide for a full week in honor of Dolly Parton.
That is extremely special. Presidential half-staff orders are almost always reserved for presidents, vice presidents, justices, members of Congress, governors, or major national tragedies. Pure entertainers and cultural icons almost never get a nationwide presidential directive like this!
Whitney Houston only got state-level recognition in New Jersey, and even Elvis didn’t receive a formal federal order of this scope.
A weeklong national tribute for the Queen of Country is genuinely rare. It underscores just how deeply her music, philanthropy, and larger-than-life presence cut across America.

Had the opportunity to meet the president today . I gave him our challenges about all SME IT related businesses in the Maldives. Specifically, I asked a solution to end the practice of resorts keeping foreigners as heads of IT. It should be Maldivian only. Thank u @MMuizzu
