18 months ago voice actor Thomas G. Burt was a full time arts worker, but now he sells self-storage to make ends meet as the industry replaces performers with generative AI. We need strong guardrails around the use of AI to provide artists with consent, compensation and control over their own work.

Love the coverage, but gotta show the current graphics as the pic used is from about 4 years before we launched @BrokenRoadsGame. So here's some kind of bonus "how it started/how it's going" quote tweet.
Thought I heard my partner in the other room sobbing, she was on her yoga mat wheezing with laughter about the Grinch at 6:34am – at Sydney, New South Wales

This is absolutely abhorrent, go on strike for the whole world to see... halt the press.. stop the movies... until they are protected... then, throw the voice actors under the bus...Why do people think it's ok to screw over voice artists, no VO artist wants to automate their job.

If you’re an Australian developer making a game, and that game has audio (which it will), you should hire Australian audio talent.

This team is legendary, and you should hire every one of them 🫡😤
First, most importantly - the staff affected. We truly believe our crew are among the most talented in the biz. You can find a full list of affected staff here - if you are in a position to hire them, do it. You won’t regret it. Let our loss be your gain. bit.ly/LoGupdate
