If Courtney worked for a mainstream news organization she would be hailed as one of the most courageous journalists in the world. She is, without them. No western journalist is even attempting what she does daily.

"Malaysia’s schools are now producing children who see difference as contamination, faith as a barrier, and fellow Malaysians as people to be avoided. This is not unity. It is segregation being taught early, quietly and dangerously." freemalaysiatoday.com/catego…

The tally is now at RM1150, another RM50 and we'll be at 20%! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I really appreciate you. The father of this family has been really stressed about getting a new apartment and the deposit needed. We're getting closer to helping them!

Since this is getting eyes, I'm helping a family from Gaza in KL raise the money for a rental deposit. They need RM6k to move into a new apt. As refugees, their work situation is restricted & they can't afford this. If you'd like to help, pls let me know. Collected 930 so far

URGENT: We are receiving extremely alarming reports that the #ArakanArmy has ordered #Rohingya villagers in #Rathedaung, #RakhineState, to leave their homes by 17 October. The genocide did not end in 2017. Our people are being eradicated from Rakhine state. Urgent international intervention is desperately needed to protect Rohingya before there are no Rohingya left in Rakhine state.

All the solidarity for Palestine rings hollow when you know this government has fanned the flames of hatred towards Rohingya people and is facilitating refoulment.
FREE FREE PALESTINE! PALESTIN PASTI MERDEKA!

The Rohingya suffer mightily in places like Bangladesh and Malaysia, but at home in Myanmar -- where reporting is so difficult -- the situation is simply unbearable.
The past few weeks have been truly devastating for #Rohingya. Governments are moving towards returns, deals and renewed engagement with the #MyanmarMilitary. Meanwhile, the news from #RakhineState is truly horrifying. Our sources tell us Rohingya are trapped between Myanmar military airstrikes and their communities terrorised by the #ArakanArmy. Young Rohingya are forcibly recruited to become human shields. People are being arrested and extorted. Families are fleeing. Homes, land and villages are taken by the Arakan Army. On 28 September, 34 Rohingya from one village in #Rathedaung were arrested at once by Arakan Army. The next day, one man was returned to his family dead. The other 33 are still missing. Their families have been given no answers. Politics is going backwards while Rohingya face total erasure. This is an emergency.

Honoured to welcome Francesca Albanese, #UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, to the Embassy of the State of Palestine in London earlier today. With humanity, courage and conviction, Francesca has engraved her name in the Palestinian people’s long journey to freedom, justice and peace. She has our deepest respect and gratitude. @FranceskAlbs @Palestine_in_UK

I don’t care how many things you’ve already read about the film Naza, or how many perspectives you think you’ve considered, or even if you’ve seen the film. Stop whatever you’re doing and read this thread:
Yesterday, I watched Naza. I did not go to learn what had happened in Gaza. I am from there. I am one of the victims of this war, one of its witnesses, and one of those who have paid a price that will not end when the war does. I did not need a film to tell me how entire neighborhoods were wiped away, how residential buildings were bombed with the people still inside them, or how families were forced to leave their homes without knowing where they were supposed to go. Nor did I need anyone to tell me about the famine. I lived through it twice, with all its humiliations, down to the smallest detail. Or about the starving people who were killed while trying to reach what were so absurdly called “food distribution centers.” I know all of this. I was there. Read the whole Thread below : #Naza @yuval_abraham

The sanctions imposed by the United States against the International Criminal Court must be condemned. The bullying and intimidation of international institutions and officials must stop. The Court is not the property of any politician, any government or any generation. It represents a solemn promise to victims of the gravest crimes that the law will not abandon them, however powerful those responsible may be. States Parties and all those who believe in the rule of law must stand firmly with the Court and its officials and staff, to protect its independence and to ensure that it has the means to fulfil its mandate. We must never allow the promise of justice to become a casualty of political power and vested interests. The victims of atrocities have suffered enough. They must not be deprived of hope, protection and effective redress.

Malaysia 🇲🇾 I have known Zafar Ahmad Abdul Ghani for years. He is a committed human rights defender who has consistently advocated for the rights of the Rohingya community. The charges against him should be dropped. Malaysia should not be using the Societies Act against him for his human rights work. freemalaysiatoday.com/catego…

You cannot preach humanity at the UN while sending people back to a country deemed unsafe. What is “voluntary” when they are in immigration detention with no meaningful alternative? Human rights cannot be preached abroad and compromised for domestic politics.

In a Westminster democracy, if you’re in government and you strongly oppose a particular policy or decision, you resign from government because you cannot conscientiously implement or support that policy. Press statements mean nothing because of collective responsibility.

A governance mindset, in contrast, prioritises pragmatic presence, institutional duty, and strategic engagement over grandstanding. It recognises that true accountability requires showing up, using official channels to state position on record, and exerting whatever influence

Urgently calling on PM @anwaribrahim & the Malaysian authorities to suspend refoulement of Rohingya refugees. Reports of air strikes in Rakhine State--which have killed more than 50 people just this week--clearly demonstrate the conditions do not exist for safe returns @MalaysiaMFA
Malaysia begins repatriating Myanmar nationals despite warnings from the UN refugee agency and rights groups that conditions in the war-torn country remain unsafe for their return. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

Bar council has failed to obtain an interim stay to halt the first batch of Myanmar detainees from leaving. PM Anwar defended the repatriation this evening and was glad that Min Aung Hlaing has agreed to visit Msia to further negotiations
