East Africa has made important commitments to transparency and accountability. The real test now is whether citizens can feel their impact through access to public information, stronger oversight and more responsive institutions. Governments should move beyond commitments to concrete action! We call on East African governments to strengthen enforcement, proactively disclose public information and ensure citizens can access the records they need to hold public institutions accountable. @tiuganda1 in collaboration with @KCoalition24094 convened a reflection meeting with Moroto District officials to assess progress in the utilisation of the Government Procurement Portal (GPP) Since the May 2026 training, Moroto has recorded 43 portal entries and 16 awarded contracts, marking progress from zero uploads. However, gaps in public disclosure, information sharing and contract oversight remain. The meeting called for stronger interdepartmental coordination, timely procurement information disclosure and improved accountability in public projects. Transparency must go beyond uploading data; procurement information must be accessible to citizens and support effective public oversight.

Key highlights: *Engaged district stakeholders on strengthening accountability and fighting corruption. *Emphasized the importance of citizen participation in monitoring public service delivery. *Encouraged collaboration between duty bearers and communities to address corruption and improve service delivery. *Reinforced the need for collective action in promoting integrity and responsible leadership.
