Jacas flipping that switch from his Illinois days has been a massive boost for this team.
Obviously, the biggest storyline has been the injuries across the board, but Jacas has been an absolute demon and has done a complete 180 from his awful preseason film.
The Gabe Jacas film is so good, guys.
#Patriots rookie winning with power, quickness, bend around the arc and play recognition. High level stuff.
It’s remarkable how he’s made himself the biggest villain in all of Boston sports media. He loves to bitch about sensationalism from Felger and Mazz while lacking the self-awareness to realize he’s as bad, if not worse, because he presents himself as some kind of football savant.
This is a painfully embarrassing attempt by Greg to make himself look less foolish.
1. He argues that Drake's performance doesn't count because it came against the Raiders, who he says rank 25th in pass DVOA. Greg, where were the Raiders ranked in pass DVOA BEFORE Drake torched them for 400 yards and 5 TDs? You don't want to know. It would hurt your narrative a ton.
2. Greg says it "isn't fair to Stafford" to factor in rushing ability because Stafford is an "older pocket QB." So you strip away one of Drake's best traits just because the guy you're comparing him to doesn't have it? Hilarious. If you really want to make things fair, consider this: Stafford is throwing to two Hall of Fame talents in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, with Sean McVay calling his plays. Drake's top pass catcher in Week 5 has never topped 724 yards in a season and dropped two balls on Sunday. Funny how fairness only matters when it helps your anti-Maye narrative.
3. Even after skewing the data and framing everything to fit your narrative, you still somehow make Drake look great. The best you can manage is to falsely suggest he's slightly underperforming two MVPs and likely Hall of Fame QBs. Nice, you really got Drake on that one!
Absolutely hilarious stuff from Greg.

AWESOMEs All-Pro safety Kevin Byard III was absolutely stunned watching #Patriots QB Drake Maye throw dimes during the game.
“That’s MVP Drake right there.”
“That’s a hell of a throw, boy.”
“It’s like poetry in motion.”
Maye has his teammates in awe.
You said the defense wasn’t great because of who they played, but then 3 out of the 4 QBs are good-to-very good. Herbert having a down year doesn’t change that. Shough’s game today doesn’t change that. Intellectual dishonest or stupid.
If part of Herbert’s poor box-score this year is playing against the Raiders… maybe their defense is just good?
You’re acting like the Raiders weren’t 3-1 and don’t have legit high end talent on defense (especially front-seven).
Again, keep shifting the goalposts. Maye curbstomped the Bills.

Herbert is good this year?
Shough is decent he also threw for 90 yards and 2ints today…
Patty is Patty
I’m citing what I’ve seen through 5 weeks in 2026
Dude, no one was talking about Malik Willis… and you know that.
Yes, Shough and Herbert are in the good-to-very-good category alongside Mahomes.
You’re citing TD:INT ratio as if it’s some absolute indicator of QB play.
Attempts at being intellectually dishonest that fall flat on their face are… extra embarrassing.

Malik Willis 2td/4int
Justin Herbert 5td/7int
Tyler Shough 9td/5int
You right my bad…
Genuinely, @MarkDondero, what’s with the charade? Just be genuine. You’re leaning way too hard into the whole “negative attention is still attention” trope. It makes Boston media look incredibly unserious when you flip-flop from week to week like this.

My takeaway after the Raiders win:
Now that Drake Maye has found his game again, it’s time to acknowledge what I’ve been suspecting for a while…..the “L” word is officially in play.
Bro cited three good-to-really-good QBs as some sort of dunk and then said, “WELL, THE RAIDERS ONLY DID IT AGAINST THEM!!”

opponent combined record in wins
patriots: 9-5
bills: 3-10
is it time to have a conversation? 🤔
I remember fight for my life with some of y’all claiming his shoulder is smoked and it was kept under wraps by the team😭

In Week 5 against the Raiders, Drake Maye produced the highest single game Total EPA for a quarterback this season, per @SumerSports
The Raiders were a top-5 to top-10 passing defense by nearly every passing analytic entering today.
The goalpost was winning teams. So he destroys two of the teams with the best records over the past two weeks, and now the goalpost has shifted to only elite defenses. Noted.
He goes onto say that the end zone pass that was broken up could have been a better pass, etc.

Please tell me this didn’t actually happen 😭
The first throw to Doubs was one of the best throws I’ve seen this year
The second throw to Doubs was another perfect throw, but an elite defensive play
Greg Bedard just said that maybe Drake Maye could have “throw him better balls” when discussing Doubs drop issue.
This has to be the greatest ROI from a former top-five pick who has effectively done nothing, and whose tape has been uninspiring.
Maybe they’ll look like geniuses and get him out of his funk… but that’s a ridiculous return for what he’s put on the field.
Trade: the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to trade WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and 2027 7th-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2027 2nd-round pick and 2027 6th-round pick, per @rapsheet and me.
Do y’all remember when Eagles fans tried to tell us that Jalen Hurts was a top-10 QB and superior to the best QB in the league?
