It's been three months since I said I was going to stop competing. I still play and practice basically every day but I can tell I'm not improving at a rate that will help me reach the goals I had set for myself, even when I feel like I'm using my time well.

As someone who started with T8, the Tekken 6 revival has been cool to watch. People posting old tournament vods, talking about the balance from those games, stuff I would never have seen otherwise. Watching my friends in the scene happily playing Tekken again is heartwarming.

Wowowow!! What a crowd! What a crew! Fists? They flew. Fighters? They grew. @AffectTK’s reign has come to an end. A new champion rises from the debris as the smoke clears. Your Top 3! 🥇 @KalebTakakura 🥈 @TennoIX 🥉 @Bone_Figure

I was talking to an acquaintance today about improving as a musician and was reminded of advice a previous teacher gave me, which was that you should never be the best musician in the group if you want to get better. If you can, you should find a place where you're the worst one.
