Imagine if Iran started bombing New York's Long Island.
Would any media outlet in the world describe it is "defensive in nature"?
The US military carried out limited strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island on Monday, three US officials told CNN, characterizing the action as defensive in nature and meant to protect US assets in the region. cnn.it/4A8Ogjk

Every time an African country elects a government that tries to keep more of its own resources, Western media discovers a "democracy deficit."
Every time an Asian nation builds technology that competes with Western products, Western governments discover a "security threat."
Every time a Latin American country charts an economic path outside the Washington Consensus, Western financial institutions discover a "stability risk."
The pattern is precise and it has been precise for two centuries.
The West is not afraid of authoritarian governments.
It has funded dozens of them.
The West is not afraid of economic mismanagement.
It has imposed structural adjustment programs that produced exactly that.
What produces the alarm, the specific, urgent, editorial-board-meeting alarm, is independence.
A poor country making its own choices with its own resources for its own people without asking permission.
That is the danger.
That has always been the danger.
Everything else is the vocabulary chosen to describe it in ways that don’t require honesty.

If capitalism is so great, why do corporations need tax breaks, subsidies, exemptions, grants, bailouts, legal protections, and trade barriers to survive? And when ordinary people ask for help, why is it suddenly called socialism?

2026 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay’s commitment to universal legal principles and her firm moral compass are constants in a long career. Born into a family of Indian Tamil origin under apartheid in Durban, South Africa, Pillay became a lawyer and legal pioneer, confronting deep structural discrimination, segregation and exclusion. A common thread runs from her early work defending Nelson Mandela and others who stood up against apartheid to her service as a judge in some of the key international court cases of our time.
This year’s laureate has significantly enlarged the scope and impact of international law. She has served as a judge on the High Court in South Africa, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Court. She was the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and, until recently, she chaired the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Today Navi Pillay is a judge on the International Court of Justice in the case where Myanmar stands accused of genocide.
In historic international court cases, she has shown that legal measures can help prevent acts of war and violence. Navi Pillay has also contributed to strengthen the institutions of international law. Her independence, expertise and steadfastness have made her one of the most respected international jurists of our time.

23 year old Bhandari Dinesh died last night at Singatam Village, Gajwel Mandal, Siddipet, Telangana
Reason - insane decibel levels from a local DJ setup during the Vinayaka Nimajjanam.
The loud sound made Dinesh uncomfortable and soon he collapsed with a heart attack.
But let’s just keep attacking anyone who appeals for common sense & civic behaviour.

"Hit by the climate we did not warm, and hit again by the wars we did not start."
Powerful words by Nepal PM @ShahBalen @PM_nepal_ in his debut @UN speech a month since the devastating Bhotekoshi Trishuli floods that have killed atleast 1400 people and 6000 are missing. Amid ongoing wars and boycott of speeches of leaders at the UNGA, Balen Shah's speech met with strong applause when he reminds the world about who is actually paying the heavy costs for the mindless bloodied war.
"Inter-continental missiles arrive on time. Rifles and ammunition cross borders, clear every bottleneck, meet each deadline. But a peasant in Nepal cannot procure his fertilizer or fuel at market price at a time of
need. We have built a world with flawless logistics for war and broken logistics for food." @SwarnimWagle @bikasrauniar @KanakManiDixit @EONIndia
