Two key points here: 1) This decision isn’t going to go into effect before the election—in MS or anywhere else. It’s instead teeing up a fight for *next* year. 2) The decision is still ludicrous—as is handing it down 11 days before an election in which it isn’t going to apply.

The Constitution's framers gave Supreme Court justices lifelong tenure to encourage impartiality, but it now tends to promote the opposite effect. Term limits offer a solution. bit.ly/484IF0x

Today my colleague @EbrightYon has an important report out about the Alien Enemies Act, a law Trump wants to use to conduct mass deportations if he is elected. As the report title indicates, the law is unjust, unnecessary, and unconstitutional. 1/10 brennancenter.org/our-work/p…

The unsealed Trump indictment gives a fuller picture of the attempted overthrow of the 2020 election. We're all the more concerned about #SCOTUS's immunity ruling, which licenses "future presidents to subvert our democracy at will," writes Sam Breidbart. bit.ly/3ZRk2CA
