Another Saturn! This time from a lot I got from Japan, sold to a customer whose Saturn had failed and was looking for a replacement. Full refurb, including retrobrigthing and recap, region-free BIOS and FRAM swaps. Works like a charm! Check all the process below 👇

That's it for this one. I have a few more in the pile which I will get to when I have a break in the orders. You can always check my pre-modded consoles in case I put up anything, or ask me if you have any specific queries. topvint.co.uk/product-catego…

Wait wait...MacBooks don't come with touchscreen now? OMG, I thought this was default for all laptops since like 10 years ago...
Can someone explain the real reason you’d want a touchscreen laptop? I’m not talking pen input (e.g. Wacom tablets), but regular touch. It seems like it would be very awkward and unergonomic.

Compared to an iron directly powered by USB, I save a wire going to the iron itself but I gain an additional unit (the base) and a battery, while only doing 45W 🤔 I'm sure there are good use cases for this, but portability is not really it I think
The closest place I can solder at un*versity is the ECE building, a 30 minute walk away. Weller and Hakko stations are great, but they're designed for labs, not dorm rooms. The Miniware TS1C is cordless and small enough to keep in my backpack. It's handled a harness with over 12 cables, and with a fine tip it does through-hole and SMD. The tips plug in like a 3.5mm audio jack but carry 45W, which is a really cool way to swap them. Link in replies. #ad 45W over USB-C Up to 400°C Recharges in its dock between joints

Here's the first release of the Xbox 360 Peer Pressure softmod. Blog post will be out in a few weeks with all the technical details. Barring any critical bugs I'll be "hibernating" for the next 2 months to recoup my sanity from working on this project github.com/grimdoomer/Xbox36…

Now, mounting the actual GEM board isn't straight forward in this one. We need to shave off the plastic from the PSU power connector and trim the pins, mount the board in a mildly complicated bracket contraption, and slightly wrestle it into position.

From all the Retro GEM installs, only 3DO is left. I am looking forward to doing one of those! In the meantime, check all my services in my website! topvint.co.uk/product-catego…
