It’s SO painfully obvious that BG&E2 was designed for the longest time to seem like a financial vacuum to scare away any hostile takeovers of Ubisoft. The scale it aiming for and the production values, yet inherent hollowness of it all… I hope it’s becoming a real game now.

Kingdom Hearts is good. It’s got some brief rough edges but you just have to push past them for the unbridled sense of joy and whimsy it has. Kingdom Hearts II though? Already better because my son showed up.

The song that plays here is literally the Ocarina of Time’s temple of time theme. Like the exact same song, not remastered or anything! I think that suggests it’s the exact same building, but it must’ve had some work done on it since OoT!

In Babylon they actually pressed and scored the words into soft clay. They used clay a LOT. It’s why a city state burned down (they refused to join a battle) and basically turned the whole place and over 20,000 tablets into perfectly preserved brick, minus the wood of course!

Fun fact! They wrote in clay so much they even did shopping lists, recipes and all kinds of mundane things with them, a guy on YouTube (tasting history with Max I think?) actually cooked a popular treat from ancient Bablyon! Just really fascinating times in a fascinating place!

In my opinion, as someone who has beaten most main Final Fantasy games… Final Fantasy XVI is a fantastic, epic, fascinating cinematic action game. Wonderful use of the Final Fantasy iconography too But the (lack of) systems and gameplay make it a disappointing numbered entry

That doesn’t make it a bad game, it’s just disappointing to anyone who’s fond of FFI-X if you’re hoping for an evolution of what the series historically engaged people with Strong RPG elements, a party, exploration, strategic gameplay, player led progression… all missing in XVI
