Found out that 2 of my PhD students ⁦@LS_Newton⁩ and Linran Wang went to the ⁦@UCLInfectImm⁩ PhD colloquium yesterday, and won prizes for their poster/talk without any input from me whatsoever. Very well done. Really impressive. Independence training is effective!

“This is real systems biology done by real masochists.” As I finish a systems biology-heavy grant, I’ve just found a new mantra. Every single student responsible for this deserves an A+ on that midterm. Excellent work 🤣
Apparently, while studying for the midterm, my students memed my class. 💀 credit: @wrboohar

Wonder what that secretive longevity company funded w/ $3B from @JeffBezos and @yurimilner has been working on? SCOOP: @altos_labs latest public program is an oligonucleotide inhibiting the retrotransposon LINE-1 to treat progeria.
