Kudos Amarillo DPS CID for this award. Countless lives saved by their investigative diligence. DPS' new iSAVE BTAM platform played a role in the success by bringing together SMEs to coordinate investigation. As the architects of iSAVE @trapwire is extremely proud of this win.
At this morning’s Public Safety Commission (PSC) meeting, DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Amarillo was awarded a Unit Citation for their swift, decisive actions that prevented a mass attack in Northwest Texas last year. Coordinating with area law enforcement partners, CID Amarillo’s work led to the arrest and federal conviction of a man plotting to use a weapon of mass destruction at a 4th of July parade.
CID Amarillo’s steadfast commitment to monitoring and investigating the suspect ultimately disrupted a credible mass-casualty terrorist plot, saving countless lives. Please join us in congratulating their team on earning this honor.
