One thing under Carrick last season was that almost every player was secure on the ball. No lose touches. One touch passing. It’s amazing how levels drop when players don’t have confidence. Elite sport is all about confidence. I’ll die on this hill!

Crazy thing is that in the league it’s still just one loss in these set of games and the league campaign is still salvageable. In fact if United can pull up their pants, there’s still lots to play for this season. But obviously that won’t happen.

My problem isn’t that they chose not to go man to man. But when 20 mins in you are getting played, why not tweak it? Carrick made absolutely no tweak throughout the game. That’s what bothers me most.
