The starters had to check back in
Is it me or are the SEIU-UHW’s fingerprints all over these ballots and propositions? Their credibility should be questioned.
Why did local media and “journalists” not ask this question back in summer 2023, but we citizens did?
Replying to @lenraphaelcpa
Might be her new slogan, but does someone who spends two weeks in Vietnam as crime is surging seem like someone who is actually prioritizing safety?
Like I said, don’t let people guilt trip you into believing them. If you love Oakland, you don’t blindly follow the blind. You do your own research, ask all the questions and figure out your own answers through facts, and not fear.
Billionaire-backed group pays local influencer to call out... billionaire influence?
📰 Poet/activist/influencer Maddie Clifford posted a video decrying "billionaire" influence in Oakland school board elections.
📰 The post's caption discloses that "the author was paid by Bay Rising Action committee sponsored by Center for Empowered Politics."
📰 The Center for Empowered Politics received millions of dollars in contributions from billionaire George Soros' Open Society.
📰 In the video, Clifford says "not all skin folk is kin folk," implying that Black people who disagree with her aren't really Black.
📰 Clifford then says people should trust a voter guide produced by the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC), which also received funding from billionaire Soros' foundation.

Dear voters of Oakland: the loudest and angriest people on social media who drop flavor of the month buzz words aren’t always the people you should be listening to. They, too, might be brainwashed themselves. Do your own research and seek facts over fear. Don’t be guilt tripped.
If Measure EE was bundled with a change to our current Ranked Choice Voting, I would have reconsidered my no vote. But the bottleneck comes down to having a competent and efficient city administrator, which the mayor already has the power to appoint.
Could the Sheng Thao corruption trial doom Oakland's Measure EE?
📰 The man behind Oakland’s strong mayor plan says Sheng Thao trial changed his mind.

To better understand Bob Uecker’s significance to Brewers baseball, he called both Hank Aaron’s last MLB home run and Jackson Churio’s first.
Just remember the people that backed Sheng Thao even through the recall are still around and very active. And they’re the same reason local media is too afraid to speak out against or report on “their” backed politicians. They don’t carry about this City, the results are obvious.

NBA players are asked which skill they would take from another player
More than half of the players said Steph’s shooting. 🔥

Let’s never forget that somehow we, common folk, knew more about Sheng Thao than these “journalists” did.
KQED and Oaklandside back at it again with some major defense of Sheng Thao. They seem to play up her “wins” and omit many reasons why people actually didn’t like her. I need only listen to the first five minutes to get it. Done with you @KQED

California's failure to build high-speed rail is maybe the most egregious example of America's inability to deliver modern infrastructure.
Perhaps it could learn from another Western country with one of the world's largest and cheapest high-speed train networks: Spain.
I explained:
