For the last six years, I've been working on helping people capture, organize, share, and archive their life stories. Thousands of hours have gone into ideating, building, and failing. I've been afraid to put my thoughts out publically. Not sure why. Today that changes. A 🧵

Thank you for today's words @notthefakeSVP. The Par 3 contest is a 4-hour commercial for being a dad... and after losing mine two years ago, and also having my own 5 and 11-year-old, it was a joy to listen to you meander through the day's emotions and observations.

This is mind-blowing. Last year they couldn't give tickets away.
You could have attended every Colorado home game last year for $222. But the get-in price for this Saturday's game against Nebraska is $476. Colorado also gained 147,000 new social media followers this weekend. Deion Sanders is worth every penny. (Ticket data via @TickPick)

Our 4th grader without missing a beat when she learned who her teacher was this year. "I think that's the bulletproof classroom, which is great for the lockdowns and stuff." We've failed our kids beyond belief.

Not sure all the stories about @Pixar's opening of Elemental is correct. @Disney trained young audiences they can stream new movies and watch them indefinitely. Theaters are good, but parents then have to explain to kid's why they can't watch it at home. Easier to not see it.

Call your dad if you can. Even if you haven't in a while.

Over/Under that @netflix gets into the room today at 4pm for Full Swing season 2? @NoLayingUp what's your odds?

Say what you want about Apple Vision Pro, but I see a massive opportunity in 5+ years as people age and desire a more immersive environment to interact with loved ones. Loneliness, chronic illness, etc. are all trending up. Anything that helps could be a game changer.

Every time I get into a new car the first thing I look for is Apple Carplay. @GM This decision is puzzling.

I'd love to see the marketing brief that led to @Google's name for Bard.

The speed of the emerging AI market is impossible to keep up with. Every day there's another solution to a problem I didn't know I had. It's going to be fun to watch this all shake out.

It's amazing how much amazing content there is on YouTube for just about anything. Name it pretty much and the rabbit hole is deep.

My dad's dying... last summer we watched the British Open while lazily talking about life. Hours went by. We circled the sun with conversation and guessed how well we'd play the Old Course. This weekend I might say goodbye to him. God I wish we could do that again.

Call your parents, ask them a question about their life. Somehow record it. You will cherish it forever; you might not fully understand the urgency and value now, though.

Interesting policy for @netflix on passwords and logging in. So much of streaming seems to be 'set it and forget it,' and I wonder if this will cause people at least once a month to think, 'do I really need this still?'

YouTube never ceases to amaze me. Recently I stumbled across the channel 'The Local Project', which celebrates extraordinary design to an inspired community. This film has one of the most spectacular homes I've ever seen. youtube.com/watch?v=eEev34rr… Well worth a watch.

Friday was the first day in years I worked a day and didn't have a zoom call or meeting scheduled. People were in the office, and we could just chat. The feeling of calmness and satisfaction caught me by surprise. Life's become way too chaotic and overscheduled.

It also has me wondering, 'when can I be creative anymore if I'm restricted to 30 - 60 min blocks of 'free time?' I have always done my best work when there are days of nothing but exploring randomly, and suddenly, it clicks. But justifying that is almost impossible.
