The system is rotten because of technological acceleration that destabilizes monogamy and traditional family structures as well as the patriarchy. Once again, social conservatives pontificate over all ancedotal ideas but ignore the fundamental reason for the end of the Old World.
Replying to @arya_amsha
Hedonism and consumerism was not injected to population overnight. It had checks and balances that were thrown away. Internet played its parts and drove the final nail to the coffin but the system was rotten anyway.

Do you support rebuilding a new temple in these cases ? Or preserve them for historical value ? @blog_supplement @shrutammegopaya @jeysundhar_d @antasthaH @prathgodbole @arya_amsha
The Sun idol no longer resides in the garbhagriha of Modhera Sun Temple, having been destroyed by Mahmud of Ghazni. But how do you destroy the eternal energy of the Sun who chose to bless this land. A thousand years later, Modhera continues to honour Surya in a remarkable way. Modhera, in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, is home to India’s first 24×7 solar-powered village - Suryagram सूर्यग्राम. The idol may be gone, but the spirit of Surya lives on. ☀️ This light and sound show is powered by this solar energy.

really funny how all these ethnic nationalists whose only attachment is to their ethnolinguistic group get a brutal dose of reality when confronted with hatred or violence based on identities they were born with that they thought they could escape

Hopeless to watch so many Indian Muslim handles justifying the death sentence of a 24-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil in Saudi Arabia for blasphemy. You may have your reasons. But understand this: you are enabling BJP big time than an average BJP voter

Indians get upset when foreigners talk about Indians like Indians talk about other Indians
“We never invited you.” Shri @yaduveerwadiyar on Bengaluru’s migrant debate, Kannada and the uncomfortable question of what you owe a place once you choose to make it home. His answer: you become a custodian of Karnataka & her culture. Watch: youtu.be/iFJtp57zRzc

Talking like an aunty to a child ffs
Stay classy The Economist. We always expect the first line about India to be about its poverty. Never disappoint us on that score okay?

It's actually not "totally intelligible" unless you are extremely well-versed in Indo-Iranian linguistics. A Sanskrit speaker who is not well-versed in linguistics would not know ϑātiy corresponds to śaṃsati or that uvāmaršiyuš corresponds to svamṛtyuḥ. Only someone who knows that ϑātiy was originally ϑãhatiy and uvā was originally hᵘvā would be able to make those connections. Most readers would not even be able to parse frābara as prābharat, ašiyava as acyavat, etc.
How's it that the Behistun inscription is totally intelligible to Sanskrit speakers then? It practically reads like Sanskrit.

This is incorrect. Sanskrit and Old Persian are not as mutually intelligible as English and Scots or even Hindi and Punjabi. English and Scots have a very recent Germanic lineage, high vocabulary overlap, etc. Hindi and Punjabi have had extensive ongoing mutual exposure. However, they'd be closer than French and Romanian are to one another.
Replying to @SamDalrymple123
It wasnt complete mutual intelligibility ( it would have been a few hundred years earlier) but it would have been about as mutually intelligible as English and Scots, and more intelligible than Hindi and Punjabi.

Violence, terror and death is so normal for Israelis that these dudes disarm the terrorist without panicking and then a random person pilots the plane till the FO wakes up, and all the passengers recite a Bronze Age tribal song on touchdown. Truly the only Bronze Age people.

Here's Gemini authoring a book on the intellectual and cultural history of India! Titled "The Crucible of the Word" Note : This is entirely authored by Gemini. My role was to merely outline the flow of chapters, govern the tone, influence the ideological mooring, and fact-check to some extent. My time investment was no more than a total of 2-3 hours spread over several days. Though am a co-author of sorts, I am yet to read it! But I think it is a good production. Do read and give feedback. archive.org/details/the-cruc…

Imagine if he was Indian lol
A man dubbed “Fecalangelo” has been caught on camera dropping a hot one in front of his son at a Bunnings Warehouse in Coffs Harbour. Staff said they’d expected the serial display-toilet pooper to strike after 27 other stores reported recent incidents, with Armidale, Ballina and Grafton all hit earlier this week by the same man. Coffs staff had raised the display toilets off the ground as a proactive measure; unfazed, the man scaled the display and crimped one off in an unplumbed toilet. An email from Bunnings has directed staff to cover every display bowl with Glad Wrap as a preventative measure.

Without knowing more about this guy, don't know if he's happy about it or not lol
Astounding video from the Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai: Anant Ambani, heir to India’s richest man, singing an H-Pop song which threatens to slay “enemies” of Hindus. I’ve been saying this for a while, music and pop culture are more potent forms of propaganda than hate speech.

I'll wait for a beef eating baniya to beat the Kenyans over 40 km before I believe that "culture beats genes"
CULTURE TRUMPS GENETICS A Chicken-chomping 4% steppe guy can beat a raised as pure veg 40% steppe north-west Indian. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pathirage beat Neeraj Chopra at the Commonwealth Games. He then went on to beat Yashvir Singh and Rohit Yadav at the Asian Games. These results challenge a lazy argument about sporting ability downstream of the dopey 'Martial Races' theory. Geneticjets often reduce South Asians to ancestry percentages. Even if we assume that more Steppe ancestry must mean a higher ceiling for upper body strength, Pathirage's dominance establishes that culture can beat genes. Training matters. Nutrition matters. Healthcare and recovery matter. Chopra remains an exceptional athlete. Singh and Yadav reached the Asian Games podium. To beat such stellar talent requires a combination of talent and skill.

With the passing of such figures the old world is vanishing before our eyes Sure there are younger trads. But most of them have been soiled by modernity in a v deep way... They are all in "counter argument" mode. Defending against all sorts of non believers (within and without Hinduism). True trads are those immersed fully in tradition and inhabiting a world where all the premises and first principles are taken for granted. That tribe is vanishing.. The "trads" of future will all be in "political" mode half the time. Reacting to modernity and its various representatives (the sanghi, the ambedkarite, the atheist, the tanatani, the abrahamic, the Hindu liberal, the Hindu feminist, the westernized feminist, the wignat, et al)
We deeply regret to share the sad news of sudden demise of Mahamahopadhyaya Mullaivasal Brahmasri Krishnamoorthy Sastrigal, F/o Prof. RamaSubramanian of @iitbombay just a while ago attaining Shivaloka. Performed Mahalaya tarpanam earlier in the morning &collapsed suddenly later

Indians are not serious about history and defensible narrative construction There is no "India" before 2nd millennium BCE The self-identification and cultural self-expression that is recognizably Indian begins with Rgveda. That's the point from where there is cultural and ideological continuity IVC is all fine. But that ain't India. India begins when the bharata clan wins the crucial wars in the pa~njAb thanks to vasiSTa's mantra-dRSTi
Why not make it 80,000 years ago ?

You miss the point 5000 years is reasonable as a rough number for 2 reasons - Decent cultural continuity from IVC - Traditional Kaliyuga period 8000 is pure pseudoscience to make it "oldest in the world saar"

I don't know why, but Hanania has stood up for Indians every single time over the past few years Wonder if he had a different opinion during his wignat days
So it boils down to Indians having a different skin color. Kudos for admitting it. The thing is the rest of us have preferences too. And the vast majority of Americans are disgusted by racism and want to live in a wealthier society. So I don’t know why a minority that wants a poorer more racist society should get their way.
