Note that I'm moving the project's social presence to a self-hosted mastodon instance because I cannot deal with Twitter anymore. I'll keep cross-posting all updates here probably for quite a while.
Syncing is back up and running! This affected people who had uploaded files, which were getting stuck.
You can now upload files to your heart's content, and previously "stuck" sync queues should begin processing again automatically.

Hi, android users. Just updated our SSL certificate for the main Turtl API to no longer use Let's Encrypt. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, but their recent change (letsencrypt.org/2020/09/17/n…) has broken many things, so I'm going back to the old fashioned way.
We're having issues with our SSL/TLS certificate (on Android devices only). This issue is being tracked here: github.com/turtl/tracker/iss….
Will update when I have more info or a fix. Sorry for the trouble, everyone.

We recently started using Element instead of Slack because it's end-to-end encrypted and ... not owned by Salesforce (who have contracts with Border Patrol, among other nonsense.)

Google have suspended Element in the Play Store without notifying us; we're reaching out to find out what's going on. Apologies for the inconvenience; in the interim there's f-droid.org/en/packages/im.v… but it's a few versions behind. We'll post updates here.
...were on the server but were never "turned on" until today, when the Turtl server was restarted due to a server issue and the new (breaking) code was loaded.
This has been rolled back so everything is working again.

Hi, sorry everyone. The process that sunsets old sync data on our database stopped working, so the database was working overtime to get everyone's latest changes to all their devices. I manually cleared the affected tables and will work on fixing the automated process in a bit.
Hi, everyone. One of our servers went down (emergency maintenance) and when it was brought back up the database failed to start automatically. I've corrected the issue and logins should be working again.
