I doubted the 2026 @Dodge Charger Scat Pack Plus when the Hemi gave way to a twin-turbo six. A week in DFW won me over: 550 hp, standard AWD, a power liftback that's actually useful, and about 20 mpg. $69,455 as tested. It grew up, but it didn't sell out.

The Trailhunter package finally comes to the 2027 @Toyota Sequoia. Old Man Emu shocks, 33-inch tires, skid plates, locking rear diff. At Truck Rodeo I ran the Adventure course in 4-high, the overlanding trail it's built for. Pricing isn't out yet.

Dave Boldt reviewed The Deadliest Decade by his longtime friend Preston Lerner. 400+ pages on racing from the mid-'60s to mid-'70s. It opens with Joe Weatherly, who refused a shoulder harness and died at Riverside in 1964. Dave calls it outstanding.

My sons saw the 2026 @KiaAmerica K4 Hatchback GT-Line Turbo in Sparkling Yellow and said it actually looks really good. Planted ride, ventilated seats for Texas heat, a flat load floor, and I saw about the sticker's 28 mpg combined. $32,870 as tested.

Garages & Gearheads in Carrollton runs the first Saturday of the month, so that's this weekend. When I went, it was 96 on the lot early and I got 15 minutes in Revology's supercharged Boss 429 with a Tremec 6-speed. Light, tight and easy to live with.

We put Dave Boldt in the new @KiaAmerica Telluride X-Pro SX Prestige. Bigger, 274 hp and 311 lb-ft, with quick climate controls for 100-degree days. He doesn't love the blank black front end, and says bring a spotter if you go real off-road. $57K sticker.

At Truck Rodeo the 2027 @GenesisUSA GV60 Magma stayed on pavement, where it belongs. About 600 hp, 641 on Boost, 3.4 to 60, and the regen when you lift hits as hard as the launch. $72,995 as tested, 222 miles EPA. Catch: you can't buy one in Texas yet.

We put Dave Boldt in the redesigned @KiaAmerica Seltos X-Line SX AWD, four hours each way to the Poconos. 190 hp 1.6 turbo, 28 cubes with the seats up, and the dash showed 30 mpg at 70 to 80. His catch? $37,205 as tested puts you in a Sportage Hybrid.

We put Dave Boldt in the @McLarenAuto Artura Spider. 690 hp from a twin-turbo V6 and a 94 hp motor, and it still sneaks out of the neighborhood on electric at 6:30 a.m. He did a grocery run, beer in the footwell. His advice: get one while you can.

My first Expedition King Ranch was a 2015 at about $57,000. The 2026 @Ford Expedition MAX King Ranch I had this week came in at $99,350. Still a great family hauler with real MAX space, but I averaged 13.2 mpg. Big families feel that sticker most.
