I used to choke up at Senate farewell speeches before Republicans disgraced themselves and the Senate. Lamar Alexander accomplished exactly nothing in 18 yrs in the Senate & McConnell destroyed it.

Quarantine should be a VIP experience. If we make isolation and quarantine things people want to get into rather than out of, we're more likely to succeed. If we reimburse people for lost income and take care of essential tasks, such as groceries and laundry, we’ll all benefit.

300,000 deaths above baseline between January 3 and October 26. So many did not have to die. A minimally competent US federal response would have prevented most of these deaths.

Fight Covid with a 1-2 punch. 1: Drive down cases with closures, 3Ws. 2: Box the virus in with strategic testing, rapid isolation, complete contact tracing, supportive quarantine. If we don’t do both, the virus will punch back, killing people and undermining economic recovery.
