In the run-up to launch, we DM'd every customer above a $10k threshhold for feedback and the overwhelming response was: "Thank God you guys are finally charging."
Accidentally built a tool that’s really good at managing software factories. Wasn’t the original intent at all
I wouldn't recommend learning software development today if you're looking for a career change.
I would 100% recommend it if you're considering it for the sake of learning a new skill. Learning to code has made me better at so many things that aren't code related.
IMO what’s happening to Adobe and Sony (Playstation, specifically) is likely coming for every company that has relied on anti-consumer practices to boost profits. An unintended consequence of commoditizing software development, but one that was, in hindsight, inevitable
Mentioning a “distillation attack” here is unnecessary at best and intentionally misleading at worst
OpenCode was hacked and users’ API keys were leaked. Be up front, jfc
We had a security breach last night related to a large scale distillation attack that impacted 1.4% of OpenCode Console users
We have notified them all this morning via email. If you did not get an email you were not impacted, it was a subset of users who had external providers linked
The incident is ongoing so we cannot share more details at this point but we are working with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to remediate
The second it's clear it's a bad idea, Amazon could change their policy and their massive distribution network would crush you...
Great video. I'm not convinced moving away from React Native is a good move.
Personally, I think apps citing performance issues are misdiagnosing the problem. Seems silly to throw such a vibrant ecosystem away.

Too many features being built into the harnesses when they should be standalone tools that work with different harnesses
Thinking about starting a YouTube series that teaches people web development from 0 to 1 without using AI
I use AI to code extensively, but I have a feeling people still wanna learn how it all works from first principles
