Earlier this year @tudelft posted a wonderful highlight of the research of Eelco Visser. No one had any idea that a few months later he would no longer be with us. tudelft.nl/en/stories/articl…
I had the honour to be one of his PhD students, and feel grateful I had the chance to work with him on the same topic as his own PhD. I’m terribly sad about this shocking news. He will be remembered and missed by all the many researchers who had the chance to work with him.
I'm heartbroken to hear that my friend and colleague @EelcoVisser has passed away. Eelco made many contributions to programming languages, including meta-languages, tools, theory, and DSLs. His warmth and leadership enhanced OOPLSA and many other communities. We will miss him.
