Wes Streeting once called for an arms embargo on Saudi Arabia. Now he’s helping its air force bomb Yemen. Declassified understands that the oil-rich kingdom will not be required to pay Britain’s military for its support👇 declassifieduk.org/uk-boosts…

They really want victims of abuse to embrace learned helplessness. Thats what this is.
Replying to @umberghauri
You are responsible for your own actions. Choosing to blame your past for what you do now is neither helpful nor mature. Moving on does not remove consequences, it just lets YOU grow beyond what happened. But obviously you don't want to do that, do you?

It’s kind of like paying an Indulgence to the Catholic Church to buy forgiveness for your sins. They want official decrees of forgiveness

But they don’t even pay lol

The repentance is a bad performance and the ‘forgiveness’ is too. This is liberalism. Perform progress to prevent it.
49
I use quotation marks because this isn’t forgiveness, it’s learned helplessness.

Racism is so inevitable that its victims must endlessly ‘forgive’ unrepentant abusers, accept further abuse as inevitable and view self-protective feelings and actions as unhealthy. A ‘healthy’ victim is one who accepts victimhood forever according to these pro abuse people.

I don’t trust people who have this incessant need to be seen as good. It becomes more important than their willingness to examine what they’ve done. So they’ll always try to defend it. Sometimes tolerate being the person who was wrong.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in an extradition case,” Fergie's attorney said. “Spanish judicial authorities can’t surrender control over the personal effects of a person sought in extradition just because a foreign government has asked for them… and now a judge has secretly turned over Fergie’s phone to the US.”
🚨 “Chambers’s legal team discovered that [Fergie’s] phone was no longer in the custody of the national court in Madrid and had been turned over to the FBI…” Where is the law? Apparently, no where to be found in this case of political persecution. theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

The concept of forgiveness "purifying" and resentment "rotting" is rooted in theological justification of abuses. Anger and resentment do not "rot" you, forgiveness doesn't "purify" you. They emerge in contextual relationships, resentment can be virtue and forgiveness can rot you
the main reason why they tell you to forgive is so you’re not holding resentment that literally rottens you overtime it has nothing to do with coddling or accepting the person

To feel fury is to refuse to normalize the unconscionable. In a society that demands numbness, anger is fuel, proof that we have not been broken. Some harms are so heinous that forgiveness is not owed. Stifling your anger to appease the wrong doer doesn’t help anyone but perpetuate further harm. Foh. I’ll keep my rage as witness and spite as fuel.

the idea that black children have to suffer through racist nonsense during the most formative years of our life in order for white kids to learn a lesson is truly so evil. y'all want to sacrifice our safety and sanity for the sake of white ignorance

If we recognized racism as a form of abuse a LOT of ppl would have to reckon with the fact that they co-sign absuive behavior and everyone likes to imagine they aren’t capable of that which….lmao
on this topic, a lot of you don’t view racism as a form of abuse and you’re all 100% bad people for that. it fits the EXACT definition of abuse yet people still act like it’s not on the same level. y’all really aren’t as progressive as y’all say

To add to this, none of these people have provided an example of a ‘reformed’ racist. The singer isn’t ‘reformed’, she hasn’t ‘unlearned’, she is upset by it being brought up and doesn’t want it to ruin her public image. That’s all this ever is.
just to put my two cents in this whole racist “phase” discourse, i find it interesting how the victims of racial abuse and harassment are always ignored and their trauma is never taken seriously, especially when the victims are black. but the racists are always the ones coddled

Esp bc forgiveness also functions as a way of restoring the social standing of the offender w/o requiring restitution. Once the victim refuses to forgive, they become the obstacle to reconciliation, & the community can treat their continued pain as disrupting social order

Society’s obsession with forgiveness is one of the biggest contributors to abuse of all forms. Somehow the victim is gaslit into forgiving someone who wronged them but the same energy is never had for the actual abuser/perpetrator.

White and non Black people keep saying that racists can only change if their victims forgive them, but it’s much more honest to say that victims can only heal and forgive when the abusers change. The abuse is what makes victims struggle to trust people.
I also think we're uncomfortable w/ the possibility that suffering can fundamentally change someone w/o making them wiser, kinder, or stronger. We want trauma to produce some compensating benefit so the suffering was “worth it,” but unfortunately that’s not always the case

And like Jesuses and Gods, they have to sacrifice not only their own lives but their children’s lives for YOUR redemption arc.

The world demands that Black people in particular be SUPERHUMAN. Even kids. They have to ‘rise above’ constant dehumanisation, they have to be MORE HUMAN after all the dehumanisation. They have to be Jesus and forgive you because you say you don’t know what you’re doing. You do.

And this inability to view racialised and Black people, especially children, as real victims, IS RACISM. Black ppl in particular. They are not superhuman. They are simply responding to abuse in the most natural, predictable, human way.

You can keep trying to reverse the situation (DARVO) or you can be honest about the fact that abuse causes victims to develop self protective behaviours and learn that racial abuse is a constant threat they need to guard themselves from because other people won’t.
