🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Some Barcelona fans are already DEMANDING Marcus Rashford’s return after Anthony Gordon’s disappointing performance against PSG!
Some supporters have even labelled the £70M signing the “ENGLISH GARNACHO” and believe Barcelona made a mistake replacing Rashford.
Despite recording 2 goals and 5 assists in 11 appearances, Gordon is facing growing criticism ahead of Sunday’s El Clásico.
Rashford registered 14 goals and 14 assists during his loan spell at Barcelona last season.

I think many of us working in tech tend to forget that the reason software engineering vs other engineering fields pays (a lot!) more, is a lot more flexible (WFH/remote), and has better perks:
Because this field changes much faster than other engineering fields. The premium is because fewer people are able/willing to pick up new technologies, methodologies so quickly.
But the field had ~10-20 years of stability, and so lots of folks forgot this is why a premium exists. And that AI is just another tech wave: software engineers who pick it up and master it will generally fare better; those not will struggle a lot more.

Here’s an alternative launch video that didn’t make the cut…
I think it’s better ;)
I have used it all week and the claim is true. It beats Opus 5.5 hands down while delivering exceptional output in cited reports. Faster! 🤯⚡️
Take advantage of @yorkeccak giving out 5000 credits to anyone who replies his post to try it out. Let's go!

Introducing our most powerful DeepResearch yet.
Outperforming Opus 5.5 at a fraction of the cost, and 2x faster than before.
Built on our state-of-the-art search engine, with the data most AIs can't reach.

SQLite is the most used database in the world, and its biggest weakness has always been the same: it runs on one machine, and if that machine dies, your data is gone. The usual fix is Litestream, but that's a Go binary you have to babysit.
So we (@platformatic) rewrote it in TypeScript.

I joined @nvidia nine years ago today, against the advice of a colleague who said their comp was below market.
But I really believed in the mission and the people, so I went.
I met @__simt__, Michael Garland, and Jared Hoberock on the C++ committee. I thought they were the smartest people there.
I worked at @BerkeleyLab on concurrent and parallel programming paradigms, mostly for SIMD.
@__simt__ convinced me that SIMT was a superior model for parallelism.
He sold me on a revolutionary new GPU architecture where threads would independently scheduled: Volta, the basis of all modern GPUs.
I asked him three times to find me a place at @nvidia. The first two times, he wasn't sure where to place me or if I'd like it.
The third time, he had me come in to talk to Chris Lamb (now VP of CUDA). We chatted for two hours and he outlined the role he believed modern C++ would play in CUDA.
I came back for an 8 round interview panel. All of the questions were answered with std::atomic. No one was sure what I would be working on.
I, a modern C++ person, was placed in the CUDA driver org, which was written almost entirely in C.
On my first day, my manager told me I'd be responsible for Thrust and CUB, @nvidia's first two open source libraries. No one had worked on them for a while and there was no product manager. I'd have to do it all.
I put together a roadmap and got the libraries back on GitHub. I started sending status updates from CCCL, the CUDA Core Compute Libraries team, which did not exist. Eventually, they let me hire three people to fill out the team.
We built libcu++ and abstractions for all the quirky new features being added to our chips to support these AI workloads that seemed to be growing in importance rapidly.
After a few years I was asked switch orgs and guide the roadmap for our HPC C++ compiler. Programming languages and models quickly became my role, from stdpar to CUDA-Q to CUDA Python to CUDA Tile to autoresearch.
What a ride it's been!
Do you know who illustrated the comic on calif.io/php2shell?
Her name is Stephanie Cortes. And her husband is the hacker who discovered php2shell: @lcfr_hax.
This artist-hacker couple has the best story, stay tuned!
10 years ago, I'd have made over 20 tweets on php2shell and written at least two articles as the PHP Evangelist that I was.
Today, i find myself writing just 1 article about it. Life is indeed long. 🌚

Yep, Anthropic contributed zero, literally zero value.
All it did was to announce Mythos, said Mythos is going to hack everything, got 50 or so companies to pay millions for access. They helped zero security researchers. Their safety classifier trips when even reading a vulnerability report.
OpenAI on the other hand, rolled out sensible KYC, gave access to Daybreak Blue, and see what the community has done with GPT-5.6-Sol (daybreak version).
One creates all the fear-mongering and delivers zero value, and the other quietly just carries everyone forward.
gotta give it to openai and their sane daybreak program

all largely thanks to openai daybreak giving researchers access to gpt 5.6 sol. anthropic took the opposite approach, gatekeeping access, there is a lesson to be learned here
