Just a friendly reminder that if you would like to get updates about United Downs Deep Geothermal Power Project and @GELtd 's other future projects, please follow the new Social Media accounts pictured below!
Friendly reminder that we've switched over to some new social media pages! You can find our details on the image below - lots of important information to be posted on them towards the end of the week...
We are switching over to a new #SocialMedia Twitter account called @geo_projects. No more posts on here from today. Don’t forget to follow our other new pages, including the new addition of Instagram!
In case you missed it, here is a #montage of pictures from the #Geothermal Testing earlier in #July. It’s the only time we’ll produce #steam like this.
Did you know; @GELtd have samples of the #granite from both wells taken every 10m? Take a look at the United Downs webpage for some examples. geothermalengineering.co.uk/…
Four sizes of #Drill bits were used to drill the #production well and three sizes to drill the injection well at the #UnitedDowns #Geothermal project.
Three different #drilling rigs have been used at #UnitedDowns #Geothermal project site. One to drill and two for testing.
Don’t forget to visit @GELtd at the #Chacewater #Energy and #EV fair tomorrow between 11am – 5pm. Lots of #interesting stuff going on in #Cornwall to see.
#ThrowBackThursday It’s another beautiful #summer day in #Corwall, but our site at #UnitedDowns has seen all weathers and not always in the #season you would think.
This #Saturday @GELtd will be at #Chacewater #Energy and #ElectricVehicle show on Millennium Green. Come and say #Hello, it’s the teams first #summer outing since 2019!
Our #Geothermal site at #UnitedDowns is looking very bare, however lots of work is still being done! Unfortunately, nothing visible at the moment.
Great to see @GELtd #Geothermal pool at Jubilee Pool #Penzance featured in @PrimaMag #August issue on page 129 as part of the “Your BEST Summer For….” #UnitedDowns project is #Steaming ahead now as well #GeothermalDecade
Over the last couple of weeks, we tested our #UnitedDowns wells to ensure that #geothermal fluid can be obtained at a #pressure, flow rate and #temperate that is #economic for #power #generation. We're proud to say we were successful in doing so!
As our testing period was #successful, the next step at our #UnitedDowns site is the #installation of a binary powerplant. This will allow us to harness the hot #geothermal fluid by turning the heat to power, generating #electricity for the National Grid.
On the 1st July 2021, Geothermal Engineering made history by being the FIRST developer to successfully bring the naturally hot #geothermal fluid to the surface and reinject it #underground, proving that the novel concept at #UnitedDowns works and a powerplant can now be installed
The last few parts at the #Geothermal site are about to be cleared off by our #hardworking contractors. We thank everyone still working to the best of their ability to end these #successful couple of weeks.
The #rig mast has been lowered and the #crane is back to help with some heavy lifting! A few more days and our #geothermal site at #UnitedDowns will be bare once again... Thank you to everyone who worked their hardest over the last two weeks!
Geothermal #Power testing has successfully been completed! The temporary ESP is being removed from the #Geothermal Production Well. The #UnitedDowns site will be back to just the well heads next week.
It was the last day of #geothermal tests at our United Downs site in #cornwall yesterday. Thank you to the Team and all of the local community for your patience. Here is a nice #thermal image of our #steam separator from @BritGeoSurvey
