to be clear: i no longer work at lunar client. i haven't for years. just proud of the work i did there. I currently take pictures of space at an observatory in texas, backend web development, and say dumb stuff occasionally about politics.

I hope everything is ok with Matt Reeves, but many this film is cursed :( hopefully it doesn't delay further. It was my favorite film of 2022 and like many, have been patiently waiting for 4+ years for it to release
Production on ‘The Batman 2’ has been paused Matt Reeves has stepped away for personal reasons (via @Deadline)

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Learning the Regis are like 3 to 7ft was immensely disappointing. They should be these awakened titans the size of buildings

This painting has been labeled a lot as being unrealistic, but after seeing this sunset eclipse in Spain I think it is decently accurate in capturing the vibe

I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL. Don’t you *LIKE* understanding the magic of the machine? You do realize hand-programming (I hate that I even have to specify hand now) is fun…right?

Private servers are engines of innovation. Get rekt, ESA.
ESA doubled down on community servers being illegal. In a statement to @pcgamer, @theESA wrote: "Private servers infringe on the intellectual property (IP) rights of game publishers. Publishers reserve the right to exercise their rights against them." pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/…

Ok last one: the rarest solar eclipse of all time. Only 4 people have seen this with their naked eyes. The sun is fully behind the moon. The only faint light hitting the near side is reflecting off of earth, 250,000 miles away. And the stars and galaxies in the background, sheesh Nikon Z9 f/2.0 2 second exposure ISO 1600 @NASA: flickr.com/photos/nasa2explo…
