Two weeks ago our son @malakyeutile walked 20+ miles backwards holding a camera.
He was filming @rizautile and me as we livestreamed a 12-hour walking marathon on the Capitola Wharf, built in 1857.
We walked to raise money to feed hungry neighbors through the People’s Pantry.
One in three people in Santa Cruz County are food insecure.
The Hope Center provides groceries to 200+ local families every Wednesday.
Media pros flew a drone and ran the broadcast while friends hosted our guests.
Twenty leaders — political, business, community — each walked a mile with us (one at a time) and shared a conversation on the stream.
It capped our summer of exercise: several hundred miles walked together while I also did thousands of pull-ups and push-ups.
Today I pulled these four moments from the stream. Full 12 hours here on X shared to @utiles
Two special moments: 29:16 sunrise shofar & 11:42:20 sunset shofar.
How might you use your own personal adventures to inspire others?

Riza is the most impressive person I know.
I have limitless respect for her and all she does.
@rizautile - you are a grace to me ❤️👸🏻❤️
I spent 2 decades as a Business English Teacher helping thousands globally with creative writing. My grammar is rock solid, but my workflow has changed!
I still write all my own articles, but now I feed them to AI to verify terminologies and formatting. What used to take 4-6 hours now takes just 1 hour!

My grandpa died around my age from lung cancer when my mom was only 14.
Cigarettes are why my dad never met his father-in-law.
I started at 11.
By my teens I was smoking a pack a day, somehow hiding it from my parents.
By God’s grace I quit in my 20s, then cycled off and on through my 30s and 40s.
Vapes just made it easier to conceal and deny.
It never felt cool.
It felt humiliating.
Shame kept me isolated longer than the nicotine did.
My wife has never smoked, yet she has met me with patience every time I reverted to old habits.
For 64 days I have replaced smoking alone with walking and talking with her—connection over isolation.
Grace to anyone reading this who is fighting something in secret.
What have you laid down that you are still learning to leave down?

Sharing thoughts on "Gracefully Pivoting and Peacefully Adjusting" during 22 mile walk on the Capitola Wharf with @rizautile
This was a live stream we tried to post on Saturday morning, but it didn't seem to process correctly, so posting it now to share the journey with @utiles

What does a bakery oven have to do with RWA?
My new blog explains real-world assets through Maria’s bakery, and why a token is more like a smart receipt than the asset itself.

I wrote a book about my husband @IanUtile as his Father's Day gift.
"Disc Drives and Divine Designs" tells Ian Utile's story: startup surges, math mindsets, disc golf mornings, and Jesus-centered leadership, the same principles that shape how we build in Web3 and AI every single day.
It took me 2 months to write and just 1 week to get the hardcopy printed , a labor of love from start to finish.
Right now, this book isn't available to the public, it's a private keepsake for our family and for friends who visit us at our beautiful beach house here in Capitola. If you've ever tried to balance building something big with staying true to your faith and family, Ian's story captures that "beautiful chaos" perfectly. Kingdom vision meets startup grind, sound familiar? That's exactly the energy we bring to Web3 and AI Made Simple every episode.
The sequel "Tides and Kingdom Calling" is already in the works.

Are you using AI to sharpen your mind, or replace it?
When you outsource your thinking, you’re giving away the most crucial part of learning: the struggle.
Learning isn't just about collecting information; it’s about sitting with a difficult problem, wrestling with it, and pushing through until it clicks. That mental friction is what actually builds neural pathways and deep understanding inside your brain.
AI is an incredible tool to enhance your output, but when it eliminates the struggle entirely, it eliminates the growth.
AI as your co-pilot, your brain as the driver
Use AI to build faster, NOT to STOP thinking. Keep your mental muscle strong.

This morning, my husband @IanUtile and I were walking around our beautiful beach village when I spotted this dandelion. I couldn’t help but think about Web3 and AI.
Nature was building decentralized networks long before we were. Every seed is basically an autonomous node sensing wind conditions, optimizing its own path, and spreading without any central control.
The future of tech isn't just code; it's bio-inspired.

You’ve been working a job for years with no contract, title, or paycheck. You are an AI trainer. Every click shapes tech. Are we users, or architects?
I’ll be sharing more interesting topics diving into Web3 and AI, so watch out for Season 3 coming soon!
Walking 21 Miles Today With @rizautile On Capitola Wharf | Announcing Next Week's 26.2 Marathon Walk
20 miles down, 1 to go today. We’ve been out on the Capitola Wharf since 4:30 AM putting in 21 miles.
Next Thursday, September 24th, Riza and I are walking a full 26.2-mile marathon back and forth on these boards from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (81 times up and back).
Taking on hard physical challenges together as a couple has been life-giving. Stepping into the adventure builds resilience and enhances your purpose.
You don’t have to walk a marathon on a wharf. That’s our challenging adventure.
But are you seeking adventure and challenge in your own life?
What’s one thing you could step into this week that makes you feel alive?
The best is yet to come!
Peace ❤️

Such an amazing Father’s Day gift from my wife @rizautile. Like reading the book I could have written :)

Sunday @rizautile and our the sons walked 10.5 miles with me on the sand from Aptos to Watsonville.
Last year I ate nothing for 40 days. Water only. Zero calories.
This year I decided to do a 40 Day Feast of exercise. Every day I add half a mile. Every day I add three pull-ups or push-ups. Biceps gave out on day 21, so I started alternating push and pull.
So far after 24 days: 143.8 miles · 699 pull-ups · 201 push-ups
16 days left: 266.2 miles · 792 pull-ups · 768 push-up
Day 40 — September 11th — I plan to walk 26.2 miles. A full marathon.
Last year, I completed a 40-day water-only fast (shared all about it March/April 2025 if interested).
This year, I’m 21 days into a “40-Day Feast of Health”. Been adding half a mile and three pull-ups every day.
I’m so thankful to have @rizautile walk with me each morning!
Yesterday was the halfway point (day 20). So far, I have completed 105 miles walked and 630 pull-ups.
I have 20 days left. Today will be 10.5 miles and 63 pull-ups. Total at the end of 40 days will be a total of 410 miles and 2,460 pull-ups.
