Inspired by the talk, I recorded myself critiquing the moderator of a one-on-one interview that's posted as an example session on Validately. I hope there are some helpful nuggets here for other moderators. youtu.be/H_O73-l1hf0
Watching Amores Perros on a plane to SLC and feeling super awkward when the sex on washing machine scene came on. I realize now I could've dimmed the screen - but didn't even consider that in the moment. Would be nice if a little reminder popped up on-screen that I could that!
Gotta love the intensity of this young Phillies fan in the top of the 9th! There's no place like Philly.
I just saw a tweet about the layout of someone's home screen and it reminded me how much I like my own.
UX Researchers: You've been invited to have a booth at the 8th grade "career day" and naturally want to have the most creative & engaging booth there. What are your ideas to showcase your career?
Fellow researchers, what are your thoughts on writing titles for your online screeners? I like to be as descriptive as possible to appeal to the target, however, others use more generic titles like this one I just came across: "Seeking people who visit websites often"
This couple from the Allstate commercial needs a backstory. Has she always been a hood ornament? How did they meet? Are they in love? Where are they going?
How cool is the art of tie dye? This tapestry I made for my 10 y/o daughter's room makes me want to tie dye everything (or "literally everything" as she'd say).
One of the mistakes I made with my startup, @CastingQual, was spending waay too much $$$ on this explainer video, before I had a beta. I obsessed about this thing - and never even used it! The use of "fun" and "awesome" now make me cringe. Twitter, I invite your critique.
Eleven episodes into watching Money Heist with English dubbed, I realize it's available with original Spanish.

Too rare to remain silent.
With only 7 red wolves known to remain in the wild, he could be the last one you hear. #saveredwolves
I'm a huge fan of Lookback and use it for all of my shopper journey studies. This could be an interesting opportunity for a junior researcher.

My new Roku stick was set to Portuguese - and I couldn't reset the language until I completed set up, in Portuguese. I took pics of each screen and used Google Lens to scan the image for text and then translate it to English. Overall, maddening, laborious & a little fun.
I've encountered some really creative liars lately, people trying to qualify for paid research studies. It's no surprise in this economy. Researchers, do you have any stories of catching people who lied on a screener? Here's one of mine...
A few red flags shot up. The first and biggest was that the ad was posted 13 minutes before I received it. Also, $30 for landscaping? I did a google image search...and what do you know?
