Thank you, dear @SaniaNishtar , for the warm welcome and @gavi ‘s continued partnership. Bringing vaccine and medical supply chains together will help us use resources better and reach every community with essential medicines and vaccines.
Always a pleasure to see @RwandaHealth’s Dr @Nsanzimanasabin to discuss Rwanda’s immunisation progress and priorities. He briefed me on Rwanda’s efforts to integrate the national supply chains for medical products and vaccines, and I congratulated him on this important initiative.

A little learning, a lot of exploring, and some friendly rivalry!
Our two Master of Public Administration cohorts spent the day at the Imbuto Hub by @imbutofoundation, stepping away from the classroom for shared activities, fun games, and a football face-off.
A change of scenery, a little competition, and a chance to get to know each other beyond the lecture hall.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AU), H.E. 🌿 Kigali City 🏙️ Rwanda 🇷🇼 is witnessing one of Africa's most ambitious urban environmental transformations 🌳.
The @CityofKigali Wetlands Restoration Project is restoring nearly 491 hectares of degraded wetlands across Gikondo, Nyabugogo, Kibumba, Rugenge-Rwintare, and Rwampara, turning them into green ecological parks that will redefine the future of Rwanda's capital.
🏗️ The project is backed by an investment of approximately Frw 55.8 billion (about US$40 million after contract revisions), making it one of the largest urban wetland restoration initiatives on the continent.
📈 Progress of the project so far:
• Four major wetlands are now about 79% rehabilitated, while Rwampara Wetland has reached approximately 75% completion, with the project entering its final phase.
🌍 Why this project matters:
✅ Restores biodiversity and protects wildlife habitats.
✅ Reduces flooding in vulnerable parts of Kigali.
✅ Improves water quality and strengthens climate resilience.
✅ Creates healthier public spaces for walking, cycling, recreation, and tourism.
✅ Increases the attractiveness and value of surrounding neighborhoods.
✅ Supports Kigali's vision of becoming one of Africa's greenest, cleanest, and most climate-resilient cities.
When completed, the restored wetlands will feature 58.5 km of walking and cycling trails, lakes, recreational parks, sports areas, and nature-based tourism facilities, transforming Kigali into a city where modern urban development coexists with nature.
🇷🇼 The transformation is remarkable—and it is only the beginning. Kigali is proving that sustainable development and environmental conservation can go hand in hand, creating a greener, safer, and more beautiful city for generations to come.

The more our students engage with the people shaping Africa’s future, the better prepared they are to contribute to it.
Following a session with Dr. Andrew Mold, Director of the Eastern African office of @ECA_OFFICIAL (UNECA), at the African Business Club, two week ago, ASG’s Trade and Development students visited ECA’s Kigali office to explore AfCFTA, the blue economy, tourism and regional integration, connecting classroom learning to the work of building a more integrated Africa.
Dr. Mold also presented ASG with a special gift, a copy of his book, 'Borderless Africa.'
