The current Digital Duty of Care focuses on harms like nudify apps and gender-based violence but leaves the advertising ecosystem and data profiling used for foreign surveillance untouched.
Before foreign interference further infiltrates users and sensitive systems, the Act must explicitly cover ad-based tracking, zero-click threats and high-risk surveillance vendors operating in Australia.
